Well... add me to the heap.

I tried the console out at BB today and like many, wasn't too impressed.

I guess I am spoiled by PC gaming.

Call of Duty ran smooth, but where was AA? At least give me 2x. I also have a grievance with FPS on consoles. It feels like I am being handicapped knowing there are better control options out there.

King Kong demo looked pretty good, but nothing a pc gamer hasn't seen before. The biggest addition for this intial round of games for the 360 will be the utilization of heavy bump mapping and volumetric particles. Respectively displayed in the T-Rex's skin and the water particles from a waterfall.

Verdict: Wait till the late spring at least for better games and maybe price drop? Also if you have been gaming @ 1280 or above with aa and af, this will be a backpedal.

And yes the TV was set up correctly with component cables in 720p.

If you don't game on the PC, this will be an upgrade, otherwise I would wait till next summer when the games sell the console, not the graphics.

While a nice post that could be usefull if people hadn't been making these posts with the exact same info for 2 weeks, I will still say hooray for you as you didn't create this thread to completely knock something. Good job! :p J/k (well...) anyways, it's all the same info we keep reading about....some people are wowed, some people aren't, there's no AA, there is AA, the graphics suck, the graphics rule, I love the controler, I have a KB/mouse setup, yada yada yada....same 'ol same 'ol, nothing new.

Once we get close to launch, say the 20th, I'm going to make a stickied Official Xbox 360 thread to avoid 100 threads. That way when you guys get rowdy, I know exactly where to go. ;)

I just wanted to warn those poor people who will be up all night waiting in line somewhere for this system, when it might be better to wait it out.

Then again I have always been a late adopter of consoles because I like to weed out all the bad games associated with a new console launch. This was learned from my inital purchase of PS1 when the best game out at launch was 2Xtreme.

For the love of God, do we need another one of these freaking threads? There are at least four over threads that are exactly identical to this nonsense.

Insenuating that the X360 isn't going to have AA is just retarded. No discussion. The two top systems last generation had no problem handling AA. If aliasing is a problem now, it's because the developer is lazy.

COD2 is a port. Look at the in-game PD0 footage that was recently released. No aliasing issues whatsoever.

Honestly, if all you do is play games to LOOK for the lack of AA, something is wrong with you. I wonder what the ppl behind you were thinking, "How long is this guy gonna take? Why does he keep examining the edges of objects?" Seriously, if you're gonna stand there and examine instead of play, step aside. There are screenshots on the net to look at.

Call of Duty 2 is a straight port, AA will be applied to the retail version...same with King Kong. Kameo looked pretty damn amazing, but that game was originally developed for GCN, then Xbox...now 360. Wait till you see Project Gotham Racing 3 running on a 50" Plasma with real 5.1 surround sound...then you'll know what 360 can do.

It does custom resolutions. Forget the stupid plasma. It will look amazing on a good moniter.

I stirred up the hive...

As far as AA goes. I wasn't looking for it in COD2. It was just glaringly absent. It is even more obvious on an LCD as opposed to a CRT. King Kong looked a lot better, probably because it was darker.

It is my OPINION to wait until more games are out. I have been burned by the quality of launch games with PS1 and PS2, so I am not saying I wouldn't buy one. I will, however wait until more games are out until I decide for sure.

I think we do need more of these threads. I endured the 15,000 BF2 threads when it was released. These threads may stop some people from making a $500 impule buy just because something has a lot of hype and its new.

Can't the same be said for a graphics card? But all the "OMG my game crashes", "WTF this game runs like sh1t on a FX55, 4gb ram, 2x7800!!!!11", "BSOD when gaming!", "ARTIFACTS EVERYWHERE!", "FEAR killed my PSU"

Yeah...360 sure would seem like a mistake. Not only does it have the sequal to one of the biggest games in history for a LAUNCH title, but it also has the long awaited Kameo and Project Gotham Racing 3. I do blame M$ for using CoD2 and King Kong to display thier system, since its obvious both of those games are poor examples.

Once again, my opinion is to wait to buy it until games are not rushed for the the launch or holiday season.

My opinion is that MS chose poor games for demos.

Therefore I am going to wait until I see it as a worthy purchase.

All I know is that Ill be at the local wallmart(only place not doing preorders) At 10:30pm waiting for 12:01am to roll around.

Nah. Bizarre has been firing on all cylinders 3 times in a row - I'm sure PGR3 will continue the track record. I know I want it eventually for Halo 3, but I want it now for PGR3 and PD0.

There is NO aa in the demo units, the aa will come in the retail version as already mentioned.
