Nigerian scammers around the world are raving about the new Yahoo mail! Just kidding, not everyone that uses Yahoo mail is trying to rip you off on Craigslist...old people like Yahoo mail too. :D

You’ve told us loud and clear that you want fewer distractions when it comes to email. You want to quickly login, communicate, and get on with your day. And we’ve listened. Starting today, the new Yahoo! Mail is fast, easy and available anywhere you go. These improvements will be available on all major platforms: Web, Windows 8, iPhone/iPod touch and Android.

Yahoo mail is such garbage. I love how search does not work in any way shape or form. Just yesterday I searched for e-mails from an exact e-mail address. Guess what didn't come up? I had to go search the old fashioned way by sight and lo-and-behold e-mails from the exact e-mail! I really hope they get their shit together but I doubt it. Yahoo was my first e-mail since I was probably 13 years old so I'm nostalgic despite how crappy it is.

this has happened to me in gmail too.

I have never had this issue ever.

In my case, it has been that way for me for a few years now :) I suck at typing but I know I did not make any mistakes in the e-mail address used yesterday.

I still have a yahoo email and don't mind them. I also have a Gmail and Hotmail account also. I've never had any trouble searching for an old e-mail using their search though that's not to say someone else hasn't.

the problem is the "new yahoo mail" drop back to the old classic ( which btw is virtually impossible without spoofing a user agent of an ancient browser ) and presto. yahoo mail they way it was. I dont want pretty email or fucking facebook to use email. classic it what still works the way it is supposed to without all the useless garbage and clutter and javascript and stupid code and transitions that make it useless. simple html. that's all you need.

This is funny.

My parents love their yahoo emails and refuse to use anything else.

I guess the bad news... if they changed so much as a color, I'm going to be spending at least an hour "fixing my dad's computer" because he can't figure it out...

The only reason I have a yahoo address is because my steam account is tied to it and they won't let me change that. I still have to use it for my login :/

Me neither, I've used Yahoo Mail for years for my bills and online orders and I've always been able to quickly find anything using the search. /shrug I use it quite often too. I use Gmail for personal stuff, having it all split like that works well for me.

Maybe he was searching thru IMAP protocols with an app or something instead of thru the web interface?

Yahoo offers two step verification like Gmail too and even alerts you if your account has been used from a suspicious/unusual location.

I seldom search for specific addresses tho, usually just keywords or part of an address, maybe they're not indexing the exact/complete addresses for search (if that's where your issue stems from).

I'm at the point of dumping my yahoo account, tired of the random repeat scam emails that are in the spam/junk bin (seriously the only email provider that seems to push everything as the inbox)

I like Yahoo email. Ads are trivial to deal with. Search works for me. My only complaint is how often it goes down, but hey its free. Haters gonna hate. Go use something else then.

Not as good as their old one, but better than their old-new one. Copies many things from gmail. (not a good thing).

Great now I'm going to have to deal with hundreds of pissed off old people. Explain that there is nothing wrong with their computers and there is nothing I can do about yahoo making changes.

It is difficult to pick sides on this one for me. Yahoo was my first ever email provider (yeah, I am that old), and I kinda stick with it. I like its simplicity, when compared to gmail I think it is actually more intuitive. What I do not like is that I still have to pay $20 a year for stupid POP forwarding (I like to have everything on my computer). And, yeah, it does go down too frequently.

I've had issues where it says service unavailable but never seems to last more than a minute... Spam blocking finally works pretty much as well as Gmail tho it took them a while to catch up. I don't understand why they charge for POP either but I guess it's not a big deal, rather use IMAP anyway.
