XP-90 Thermal Paste

I just got an XP-90 and was wondering if the thermal paste they (meaning Thermalright) supply is any good. I have AS5 sitting around and was going to use that anyway, but I thought I'd check.

I just got the xp-90 also...Stick with the AS5...you'll diffinitely get lower temps using it..im sitting at 28 idle..

AS5 for sure. Idle temps are around 23 c here.

You know, I looked and looked and couldn't find a damn word anywhere about how good that stuff is. It's ceramic based though from the looks of it instead of metal/grease type, which can be a plus. Saw a whole lot of people going "use AS5, it's great" without ever having tried the Thermalright tube, and nowhere could I find anybody that bothered to actually compare both sides before declaring a victor.

I was out of Arctic when I got my XP-90 and I'm using the suppplied paste (they give you enough to do like 50 CPUS !)

It's actually not bad, one day I'll use some as5 or some ceramique and see if there's a difference.

But you never know about the generic stuff, whereas AS5 is pretty much proven.

I tried using that Thermalright paste and a clear liquid came about of that syringe! Im like wtf? I guess the stuff separated from sitting too long, so I just used an old tube of AS2 I had from a long time ago and it still works great.
