XONAR DG blocking GTX 460?

I'm running GTX 460's in sli, and the only available PCI slot is right in between both video cards. Would it be much of an issue if I crammed the Xonar DG in between the two video cards (ASrock Extreme 4 z77 mobo)? It doesn't seem like a tall soundcard, so I wonder if it wouldn't block much of the top GTX 460's fan.
 
Check temps with and without the card. It should be fine.
 
The DG has much cheaper capacitors than the Essence ST and STX, so be careful about having it sandwiched in between two very hot video cards. Those caps may wear out much more quickly than usual.
 
What speakers/headphones are you using? Have you thought about migrating to a USB soundcard?

I'm mainly using Senheisser HD 555's. I liked that the DG has headphone amplification that works on the cards front panel connections. I've thought about getting a usb DAC like the Topping tp-30, but the Xonar DG is only $30, vs $100 for the DAC. I want to just get the DG and see what happens, but the card will literally be RIGHT against the GTX 460 intake fan. It's too bad they don't make a pci-e version. I've got a pci-e slot open right above my video cards.
 
The Xonar DGX is the pcie version of the DG afaik. it's only $10 more on newegg.

The Topping Tp-30 isnt just a DAC It has a DAC, Headphone amp, Normal amp capable or 2x15 watts rms. Not to mention its made with high quality parts.
 
The DG is garbage and the so called "headphone" amp is just a gain boost...doesn't REALLY amplify things. I'd say the Topping is definitely the way to go OR get a better sound card and one that's possibly PCI-e.
 
as I posted in your other thread. Go for it. It won't affect your temps, just get a floppy SLI bridge.

Really? I've read nothing but great things about the DG. Are you sure it doesn't have headphone amplification? I know that Asus calls it's different amplification modes "gain" options, but isn't gain just a method of increasing power output to increase the volume output to speakers (like on a guitar amplifier)?
 
Joe had a bad experience with a Xonar, he's posted the same thing in the past... Can't really explain it, I still think he had a bum card. /shrug There's definitely an amp on it tho
