So it's almost the end of the first day of this challenge, and already Xilikon is cranking away. He's shrunk my lead from 217,813 to 212,788, that's 5,025 points!!! That's as much as my fastest system can produce in one day! And that's after I just added a 8800GTS 512MB to my list of folding hardware.

Man am I dying for that raise!!! I was going to buy a new car, but that is going to have to be put on hold for a few months:D

while you are at it, why not use the food money too, i'm sure that can be put on hold for a few months too :D

and with the money u save u could buy yourself a nice little quad and a 9800GTX !! :cool:
 
Bah, it's not a great day for me... I was forced to wipe and rebuild a box today and I lost a few thousands of points (was acting very weird with gpu doing 2000 ppd and SMP doing just 1200 PPD even with 3 cores). I hope that after this, I can add 3-4 thousands daily :p

i myself have an EMO piggy bank, so it pretty much breaks himself up :eek:

Wow, not only do I have to make up the 5k PPD gain he already has on me, he's now going to add 3-4k PPD with a box he already has, and he's buying another box in 3 weeks. HOLY CRAP I need $$$

You gained back 8k since yesterday, good job ;)

I didn't finish rebuilding the box yesterday so I'm working on it (give me 1 hour and it will be crunching at full blast).

 
Now that numbers is settled, it's a extra 4200 ppd for a total of 33,755 ppd just for the home farm without counting the odd 5k ppd from work and 1-2k ppd from friends borgs.

 
Fantastic...man I seriously can not wait till you move!!! That will be my only hope for winning this thing, because right now I'm lucky if I get 30k ppd.

BTW, have you ever heard anything from WRat? He's pushing 30-40k ppd and coming up fast!
 
As of the 12pm PDT update today (06/25/08), I'm down to a 217,511 point lead from Xilikon. On a good note, I've gotten his daily lead down to less then 5k for now!!! Now I just need to figure out what to do when he add's the next few boxen!
 
Yeah, didn't expect you to hold me pretty well so good job ;)

As of now, my plans to get something to help my ppd will be done after july 7th only (where I will receive a fat amount of money without feeding a tiger).

 
I'm trying brother, I'm trying!!! Well I guess I'll have to use my first paycheck that has a raise for a new machine:) Especially if I'm going to keep up with you!
 
Woohoo, yesterday was my alltime highest point production ever!!! Somehow back on February 10th I had an output of 36,878, but that was an anomoly. According to the way I calculate days, I did 40,060 points yesterday, and how the [H]ardFolding site calculates it I did 37,925. Either way I beat my previous record!!!

Woohoo, I just reached 40,950 from [H]ardFolding.com, and from my stats, 42,566! Now tomorrow should be a lot lower, because one of my machines is out of order and I had a Quad with a GPU2 client on it, and I don't know why. I got a brand new power supply, and I'm not sure why it's not working.
 
I guess you didn't add any box and just tweaked what you got to get that much production. You are now matching my own production and this is a huge achievement for you !

I'm considering manw[H]oring to get a few extra boxens...

Yeah, my main boxen, which now has a Core 2 Extreme QX6800, 4GB RAM, GTX280, Windows XP 32bit is still down, so I'm loosing a lot of PPD right now.

But if you're able to purchase stuff, you can still win, because I can't purchase anything for a while. All I have is trying to milk more out of what I have, which from the points I've seen from other people is pretty pathetic, and I don't know why. It's driving me nuts!!!

Ok, here's what happened. I had bought a ATI 3870 as soon as the first kind of GPU2 client came out. When the GTX280 came out, I bought one with a new 800 watt 80plus PSU as well, because my previous 600 watt PSU didn't have any 8 pin PCIe cable. So, when I swapped out the PSU, and swapped out the graphics card, it just won't work. No boot, not even that little buzz when you first plug in the PSU into an outlet, and none of the LED's on the motherboard light up when I turn the PSU on in the rear. So I'm really at a loss. I may just need to purchase a new motherboard, looking at the P45's that have dual PCIe x16 slots so I could add another GPU in a few months.
 
BTW...congrats!!! You're down to only 207,526 points behind me...I'm in serious trouble! Especially with this box down!

What happen when you plug back the old PSU ? You need to find out if it's the motherboard or PSU is DOA.

 
Yeah, I'm going to go into work tomorrow to check it out. I need to switch out my GTX280 card with my other AMD 3870 card to use the old power supply, so we'll see what happens.
 
Ok, I swapped out PSU's, both of them work, I swapped out graphics cards, and both of them work, so I think it's my motherboard, because you know that sound when you turn on the switch on the back of your power supply, when it kind of "juices up" your motherboard? Well that is no longer happening, and none of the LED's on the motherboard turn on anymore, so I think I killed my P965 board, which is good, because I think I might get a X48 board so I can run two PCIe x16 cards in one box.
 
BTW...as of 11:45 EDT the gap has grown to 231,266:) That's a 13,755 point gain for me from 06/25/08. I know it isn't much, but I feel proud to have gained anything on you!

Now I'm worried that by saying this, you're going to go out and grab a few more boxen, and destroy my small gain:-(
 
Enjoy this while you can since I'm not in position to improve production before next week (with a downtime between july 4th and 8th as predicted). After this, I'll push harder than ever ;)

 
Nice job lelliott, I assumed that Xilikon was gonna steam roll you, but looks like
you had some untapped ppd to ramp up with. Fold On!!

 
Yeah, hold off on your luck wishing till after July 8th. That is when I am definitely going to need it!!! And I just found out my wife is going to have to have surgery, so the dream of using the raise for new boxen in July instead of a new car is gone. It's now going to fix up her wisdom teeth! So unless I can figure out why a majority of my boxen are sucking so bad compared to others here, I'm toast after July 8th!

But I might as well bask in the glory now:)

At least, you will have over 1 week to party like there is no tomorrow ;)
