hey guys just wondering how good's the 1283v on a i7 rig? overclocked of course, I've heard great things about this heatsink but there seems to be a point when it gets saturated, does the i7 generate enough heat to saturate this beast? Will i be better off with a true? thanks!

TRUE with push/pull fans is a tough thing to beat. That being said, the Xigmatek is good also. How far are you looking to push it?

True is a bit better than a 1283, One thing im wondering is if xiggys fit on i7? Prob does but anyway.

Im sure a xiggy would be more than enough for 3.8-4.2Ghz.

I am using the xigmatek with my i7.

I am only clocking 3400 idle is around 37C, load around 50C.

I am not using a stock fan, I am using 1 that performs a little less but is quieter.

i'll be pushing it to 4ghz or 4.2 ghz. i've got a decent chip so i think i'll be fine, I'm currently using a scythe mugen 2, reason i'm changing is that the scythe mugen doesn't fit my motherboard that well, i'm looking to sell that or trade that for a xiggy or true.. so will the xig handle a 4.2ghz oc?
