So my previously RMA'd HD 6950 bit the dust. I was told when I RMA'd it the first time that the new serial number is tied to my old one in their system and that I shouldn't worry about it. I logged in to the XFX Support website to start the RMA process & it still doesn't show the replacement cards serial number.

Has anyone had a problem with this? Am I in for problems with this RMA?

Seems to me iirc they had some issues with there website and were telling people to re-enter their information again if it was not in the system and your warranty would start from that date...kinda weird but they had no choice with the data being loosed and it not being the customers fault.
I might have this totally wrong as well but the rep should respond to this thread at some point. Either way you shouldn't have any issues with rma if needed

I have had issues with the XFX website in regards to support in the past... contacted them and they were very helpful. I was worried at first but they turned out to be pretty good working with me. It was a pleasant surprise for sure after getting worked up over the horrible support site.

My new card was auto registered in the place of the one that I sent in.

Hey Guys,

Yeah we did a rebuild of our website and some of the data was unfortunately lost. If you were a statistic in that event, don't worry, we are working with everyone on a case by case basis and taking full fault. It was pretty embarrassing for our tech team to find out that such a huge blunder was made so we make our best attempts to ease any unnecessary stress off of our customers because of it.

A lifetime warranty is a very power motivating force to incentivize buyers and we don't want anyone to get the idea that its a carrot-on-a-stick. Admittedly, its one of the few things a customer can say to me that bothers me at the end of the day.

If you are seeing this post today or ten years from now. Please contact us at XFXsupport.com by re-registering your account and serial# and simply let us know your registration info was lost and you need help or simply want to re-instate your lifetime warranty.

RMA replacements since March 2013 should automatically be reigsterred to your account once your RMA is complete. its possible you may have had an RMA before this time and the original serial # is still in your account. Simply re-register it and we will treat it like a lost account serial #.

Thanks,
XFX Support

I've had lots of good support from XFX from 3 different RMAs. I'm sure XFX will fix any problems or issues and take care of you.

I did too when I RMA'd the first card. Their support was excellent & I talked my family members into spending the extra on XFX because of their support & warranty. I hadn't logged into the XFX Support site since then. I hadn't heard about the database snafu. I opened a ticket & am in the process of getting it straightened out.

I am curious as to what I will get back though. Would it be a Double D, as those are the only cards that carry the lifetime warranty? Their warranty website says "we will replace it with a performance-comparable product". I bought it for its stream processor count not just for gaming, so any less would seem to me as not being a "performance-comparable product". Does anybody have any input on this?

I'd try to PM the XFX rep on here and tell him what your needs are with the videocard and see if he is able to make a note and try to push for a card that will work for you. My last RMA I spoke with a rep and asked for a specific card to match another card so I could crossfire them and he was able to help. I guess it all depends on what is avail in stock and able to be shipped.
