XFX Warranty transfer?

Hello;

I've searched around the forums and Google, and all I find are posts from 2010/2011. I'm wondering if XFX's warranty is still transferable on the 290X.

not sure about the 290x, but the 7XXX series radeon cards did not have transferable lifetime warranty.

From what I remember it has to be a "DD" model in order to transfer the warranty. The rest was suppose to be 2-3 years warranty on those. But you are only allowed to do it once for the "DD" models. Hopefully the XFX support guy will come in and clear it all up and make corrections.

It actually is a 290X DD.

I have already contacted them through email, but still have not received an answer.

They don't do double lifetime anymore.

Hey guys,

Here are the current XFX warranty terms in a nutshell for the 7XXX series and R5/R7/R9

North America:

1st owner, with receipt and registration gets a Lifetime Warranty on any card with 2 fans. (dd models).
- registration (within 30 days of purchase), but no receipt and vice-versa still enables a 2 year warranty based on the serial number.
- No receipt, no registration within 30 days? no Warranty. Get a receipt/invoice/something.

2nd owner technically has no warranty, but we will work with customers on a case by case basis for up to 2 years.

Single fan = 2 years, registration or receipt will get you activated, both preferred, not required.
tripple fan = 2 years, registration or receipt will get you activated, both preferred, not required.

Warranty void stickers do not void the warranty

South America:

Warranty void stickers if broken will VOID the 2 year Universal warranty

*2 fans and single fan models have the same 2 year warranty in South America.

2nd owner technically has no warranty, but we will work with customers on a case by case basis for up to 2 years.
Asia, Europe, Africa:

Varies depending, contact your retailer for certainty.

If you buy a card from North America, and have it shipped to South America, or Europe, etc. Your Warranty is only valid in North America, and we will honor warranties if your ticket and return address are in North America.

Would boost the value of XFX cards substantially if people knew they could buy second-hand and still be covered.

This kind of stuff should be concrete on the website, not buried somewhere on HardForum (as it is now).
