There is one small issue with that PSU but it won't affect 99.9% of all modern PCs today.

So in other words, good PSU.

said it fried the psu in less than 1 min runing to much on the single rail =OP of course i never try to run to much but the fact the overload didnt kick in and turn it off is kinda scary

Well... it's good to know that i won't be running full load. ya know the usual below max watt rating.

Wow I can't believe they threw an extra 95 watts at it. The rectifier though could have been bad originally and the OCP wouldn't of worked.

shit they throw extra watts at every psu ive read a review for.. i think the antec 750watt psu i saw review for they put 900 watts at it and it worked fine but was not 82+% efficient so they said it was prob a 900 that was renamed 750 to make more efficient.. i love the reviews

The PSU was loaded to almost 100W over its rated capacity. That's not a concern for anyone with enough brains to not overload their PSU (and overloading a 650W PSU, especially by that much, is not an easy thing to do). I do think that all PSUs should have active OCP, but the reality is that this shouldn't have any impact on the vast majority of people.

The rectifier wasn't bad, it was overloaded. If the PSU did have OCP, it would have been triggered by the controller IC. The rectifier had nothing to do with that; it was just the part that happened to fail due to being run out of spec.
