I thought the ps5 wasn't going to come out until early 2021? I heard they are having problems with pricing and supply of certain parts.

The article I believe you are referring to specifically mentioned only the challenge of keeping the cost down and not about shipping during the holidays. I could be wrong, but I don't remember mentions of delays.

for the price Microsoft wants for any sort of hard drive expansion it is going to be a million dollars for anything over a terabyte

But stand alone GPU / CPUs are much costlier than what you get inside consoles

What if MS ordered CF express cards in bulk & sold them for a competitive price (should be competitive with NVMe removable storage because the technology appears to be the same )
