Hello!

I have a X800GT, and I'm thinking on buying a 30" display capable of 2560x1600.

Can this graphic card give me that resolution?

If I buy another X800GT with crossfire, can I get to that resolution?

This is very important to my decision, If anyone knows, please help me.

thanks

Hugo

for a 30" 2560x1600 display you need one Dual-Link DVI Port, the X800GT does not have one of those.

Thats just whacky to consider a 30" when you are using a crappy vid card but you can get a fairly high resolution in analog mode, just not digital/dvi.

yes, yes it is. Go If you've got the cash to throw down on a 30", might as well go 1900 xfire. There's a set on ebay for $700.

Ibelieve my card makes 1920x1200. Working in a 30" with that resolution is relly bad or acceptable?

i say if you want a dispaly 30" or bigger go with the westinghouse 32" it goes for around 1200.. you can get it at bb or at amazon. Or the viewsonic 32" that is 999 and you can get it at www.costco.com .. the resolution are those monitors are 1366 x 768. They are very good tvs/good monitors and i know someone who has the westinghouse and has not seen any ghosting

Yeesh, that'll look pretty stretched and fuzzy. You DONT need to spend 700 for a crossfired set of graphics cards to run the 30' either. Having said this, a gpu upgrade will be necessary to run at native resolution.

By the way... what is the cheaper or better price/quality, card to run the 30" at 2560x1600

I work a lot with CAD.. the big screen is good for that, but I bellieve a good resolution is needed also. do you agree?

Edit your post instead of posting within a minute of yourself :). Yes, though, I think that high-res is important for CAD work. You should upgrade your videocard though to something that can run the 30" at its native resolution, however!

I will search... If anybody cam give me some inexpensive sugestions I appreciate. Thanks

I don't want to spend $500 in a video card that as 8 months ($100/month) to live, because with the realease of DirectX10, the previouse cards will not support that standard.

Is there any comparison chart of graphic cards performance at 1920x1200 and 2560x1600?

For CAD work and whatnot, there is no need to spend $500 on a 3d gaming card, just grab one with a dual-link DVI port and you're good to go :)!
