I bought an ATI X800 XL from www.ati.com 2 weeks ago when it was on sale. Loaded ATI Tool and it's saying "Active Pipelines : 8". The box says 16 pipelines. What should I do???

Hate_Bot said:XL has 16 pipes, Pro has 2, but the pro costs more for some reason![]()
Reikoshea said:did some research and the normal x800 was the one with 12 pipes, not the XL...apparently the XL is the x700xt with a different name. Correct me if im wrong.
Hate_Bot said:thats wrong, The XL has has 16 pipes and 6 vertex shaders.
It's completely new chi also. uses a 90nm process, rather then the 110nm used in the X700XT

Specifications
RADEON X800 Technology Specifications
160 million transistors on 0.13 micron low-k fabrication process
Up to sixteen extreme parallel pixel pipelines
Six programmable vertex shader pipelines
256-bit quad-channel GDDR3 memory interface
AGP 8X support or PCI Express support
that was for hte first run of x800s, the new ones were released alongside the x850s and they are fabbed on 110nm.Reikoshea said:Straight from ATI.COM
130nm
and 110 is cheaper than 130, which the x850 series is sitll being fabbed on. the x800 pro/XT/XT PE are being phased out.I thought the reasson it was so cheap, was because they used a 90nm process, which is cheaper?
