Hi guys,
I built a new rig a month back and am now happy with my overclock being stable on my CPU/FSB/RAM, so I thought I'd overclock my graphics card.
I bought an HIS silent ICEQ3 X1900XT 512MB after hearing they were good overlcockers. However - when reading back the clock speeds for both GPU and RAM I see only 499MHz and 505MHz respectively. I should be seeing 621MHz GPU, (1.44GHz/2) 720MHz RAM. Both Powerstrip and ATITool are giving me the same values.
I can overclock the GPU to 670MHz no problem, the RAM seems to be a problem getting to anywhere near 700MHz though.
Does this sound like a defective card? or is there anything that could affect the readings in both ATITool and Powerstrip?
I have the latest drivers on both my Vista and XP drives. I get the same readings back on both too (although I can't seem to get the GPU to clock as high under Vista).
