The fastest PCI card on the planet!! too bad it would be horribly bandwidth choked ;)

is this the XT w/ 512mb memory? if it isnt, then imagine how much would it be for 512mb memory

EDIT: looks like it is the 512mb card :) well, i'll wait and those prices going down to 499.00 in a few months :D

so is this the 512mb one ?? cuz if not .. the 512 one is prolly like 999 LOL ...
im seriously tempted to sell my gtx and get one of these and a crossfire board and run crossfire ..

guys at xtremesystems has overclocked one xt to 1ghz core and 1ghz mem .. with ln2 cooling on just the core

How can you tell? There is absolutly no mention of the ram size.

Look for it on Froogle. You'll find people advertising it for prices below the $600 mark, but noone has it in stock.

What's wrong with it? It's called a joke...
Given the mood of the video card forum mods, this is not good timing for smart @$$ comments. The comment was off topic and un-necessary.

In all technicality, yours was also, perhaps more so than his. I am fully aware of the state of this forum, but really more what is frowned upon is off topic posting that is flaming or flame bate. He was more or less simply making an oberservation that they said PCI instead of PCI-E, which is partially on topic, and was not offencive to anyone. If you think his post in a problem, instead of posting back with an equally off topic and unecesary post, perhaps you should have just informed the mods and let them decide if it was really unnecessary or not?

Well if you read the listing it lists it as a PCI part. It goes along the same topic as people not knowing whether it is 256MB or 512MB...because the listing is crap and gives no information at all...and incorrect information at that. Just because you hate me because I dont like AC equipment is no reason to flame me wherever I post....get over it.

Trust me, I don't hate you because you can't see the light ;)

Just curious, are we talking Aqua Computer or Arctic Cooling? I don't like either, but I am curious nontheless :D

Aqua Computer....but that is off topic.

Back on Topic : If that is the 512mb X1800XT it bodes well for ATi. I dont think that CDW is one for price gouging...but the fact that it is close to what MSRP is supposed to be for that card 2 weeks before it is supposed to be available is a good sign to me.

The fact that there is absolutly no information on it leads me to believe that its not in stock. Also, if you look at the shipping time it says 3-6 days. Anything in stock at CDW says ships same day.

As far as price gouging... the X1800XL at CDW is $60 more than anywhere else :(

if u search on froogle for x1800xt it comes up with a saphire 512mb xt for $559

Concidering the link has nothing about being a sapphire 512mb model... and the fact that its nearly $150 more than what froogle says, you would have to be crazy to order it based on that.

That listing is just a ploy to get people to preorder it at outrageous prices

I would pay it if I knew it would ship this month.

Concidering that comes to $720 USD... not so hot :(

Are people really going to pay $700+ for this card?
Yes after playing with an X1800XL for a good week.

Too slow or what?
No, I got a good feeling for the quality and am willing to wait for the XT to release. This is unlike me but I figured 2 gigs of ram and a new sound card would hold me over until the XT is in my hands. ;)

Oh my...this sounds goooooooooood. I think I'll order one tomorrow.

im waiting to see 2 of them in crossfire .. im sure someone over at xtremesystems will have a setup running soon .. and see how it will compare to 2 gtxs .. or the 512mb version of the gtx when it comes out before i switch over to ati

You could get 2 GT's in SLI for that price and get it delivered tomorrow.

Nothing that I have seen makes this card worth more than the cost of a GTX at $450.

However, a fool and his money are soon parted.....

If I had the money I would get one. Just remember a product is only worth what someone is willing to pay, Just because you dont have the resources and/or desire to purchase one of these dont knock people who do.

I hope when prices come down someone wants to trade one for a 7800GTX, but I wont hold my breath. :p

Lol you and Rollo preaching about how Expensive it is Cracks me up!
Excuse me but wasnt it the Nvidia fans preaching about how SLi was ok because those with the money wanted nextgen performance now? How about people with the money now want Next Gen IQ today? Or is that too fair?

It really is too expensive. I realise it will drop in price very quickly, but if that is the RRP, we are all doomed.

In the reviews I saw (with screenshots) the difference in IQ was negligible. So $700 for a card that performs like a $450 card is kind of silly. At least SLI provided a significant performance boost.

ATI has shimmering issues, ATI has shadow issues, ATI has AA issues. They are all very game/driver specific. I’m sure you can cherry pick a screenshot where an ATI card looks better than a NVIDIA card, but overall there is very little difference.

Strongly disagree, CDW is consistantly the most expensive online retailer out there, simply because they frequently cater to companies and organizations whose ordering divisions are setup to use them. Expect to pay full retail for everything there.

well then that would give cause to believe that these cards would lower fast in price just like the XL did

if a price gouging site has them listed already for around the MSRP before the expected release date that could mean good things, its definetly something to get excited about

Actually until you game with both cards (which I do) you don't know how much better gaming is on the X1800. Then again it is easy to speculate.

FYI - screenshots are nice but real game play is what is required to make an intelligent IQ statement.

And paying for an SLi System back in the day that costed 1000 to 1200 in its prime was ok even though in a year you could buy a card that performs better for 380 to 450?

Im sure you can Cherry Pick little tiny flaws that existed maybe a year ago but so far I have had no problem with my X800XT in any game but in BF2 and that was solved but the 5.9s or 5.8s one of those. Overall IQ quality is on ATis side. It was with the X800s AA and AF wise and it is with the X1800s. Back during the X800 days and 6800 days it was a tie due to SM3.0 and Better HDR (or real) on Their cards.
Now their is no contest and their shouldnt be. ATi has been working on this card for a long time.

CDW is expensive...always has been and probably always will be. No reason to discuss this point any further.
