Im building a somehwat mobile system for taking to friends house and such and was going to use the X-QPack case, just need to know if the 420w power supply is any good. It will be powering a 939 athalon 3400+, 1 optical drive, 1 hdd, and a 6800gs.

I wouldn't trust the aspire 420 that comes with the case.

I recommend the XClio 450BL at that price range.

I believe there's an Ultra V-series 600w that is going for very cheap after rebate.. Look into it.

Many people have bought Aspire cases and used the OKIA brand PSU that has shipped with them with no bad results!

Others have used the Aspire PSU that shipped with some of the Aspire cases and had issues.

It all boils down to what are you going to with your system.

If your going to be surfing the internet and playing hearts or spades or even xhess you shouldn`t have any issues...

The problem is not will it power your equipment sure it will....but how long dop you want your PSU to last.....its really a crap shoot with these generic PSU`s.
You get a name brand...by name brand not a Antec or the cheapest you can find and you should do fine.

Good Luck!!

Yet if you want peace of mind I would definately get a different PSU.
