Just reinstalled my X-Fi.. getting the following error in XP SP2:tried it in PCI slots 1 and 3.System in sig.

Message in Device Manager:

Windows cannot start this hardware device because its configuration information (in the registry) is incomplete or damaged. (Code 19)

WTF? I uninstalled, went to Safe Mode, ran Registry Cleaner and Driver Cleaner Pro, no go.. keep getting this error. I just got UT3 and I want to play it, dammit!

Help?

I know this may sound weird.. but manually download the drivers from creative, extract the drivers with winrar.. then run Ctzapxx.exe

See if it gives you the option to remove and install WDM drivers. Do both

Whenever I have problems with my XFi drivers, this always seem to work.

what he said! this problem has happenned to me with audigys and sblives in the past. my x-fi has been ok so far. creative labs driver weirdness ftw!
