X-fi Vista Fix

Once Vista is released, you have absolutely every right to complain, and I sincerely hope people do, if drivers aren't available by then. However, until Vista is a supported OS, there's nothing to complain about. That's the point we were all trying to make. The one doing all the complaining, I'm willing to bet, never bothered giving feedback to Creative.

I would also like to make a point. "Jumping out of a speeding car could and probably will result in significant injury". How can you argue with that point? It's right on the money! It's just Off Topic and it's irrelevant to this thread. I really am not trying to insult you in any way, and I totally dig the point you are making, you have made it several times. Several times I tried to explain I also didnt feel Creative was OBLIGATED to provide drivers. I simply thought it was a poor choice and a weak effort to date. Lastly, why would you even make a suggestion one way or another, as to my giving feedback to Creative? LOL.. I dont get that. PEACE!!

First off, my comments weren't directed at you. I think you know who I had been talking to. Second, I suggested giving feedback to Creative because it puts the spotlight on them. If you let them know if issues, you did your job, and now it's time for them to do theirs. Only time will tell. Some people think the drivers work fine for now, others still have issues. The person I was "debating" with didn't seem to understand that Vista isn't supported just yet, and argued with anyone who told him differently. I certainly hope Creative releases drivers for their cards that work for everyone. We can all agree they've had spotty records in the past. I still remember the days of the compatibility problems with Via chipsets and SB Live cards. Via and Creative kept blaming each other. I'm not sure I understand what your car analogy has to do with this thread, though, but maybe I'm missing the point. I wasn't directing my comments to you...just the person who didn't understand what the whole beta test, unsupported environment was all about. ElaborateDream's last two paragraphs sum it up perfectly.

Fair enough.. I never really got to see that other guys comments as they were all gone when I logged on yesterday. the analogy was to illustrate that you were making a very fair, logical, solid argument as to whether or not Creative is obligated to provide drivers, But the intent of this thread was not about that. It was really meant as a commentary on Creatives poor showing in driver development for the vista beta to this point (also a history of this). I take responsibility for not making the topic more clear as I was a bit on the disgusted side when I originally posted.. ;) Peace to you!

The bitchfest ends now or the thread gets closed. Its up to you guys.

I just bought a new proc and mobo, so I'll give Vista a while on it before I lay down my XP Pro image for good. I have an Audigy 2 ZS, so we'll see how Creative's drivers are for that. I'm also doing it just so I can see what my performance rating will be. :D E-wang++

Are you talking about Vista x64 or Windows XP Professional x64 Edition. The X-FI doesn't work with the former, and does work with the latter.

Unfortunatley you are wrong on this count, I've been running Windows XP Professional X64 as my main OS since it came out, I bought an X-FI Fatal1ty FPS in June and have never had an issue with it on X64 Windows.
