WWDC!

New Pro's?

We pray

Thinner MacBooks?.

We hope

OS X 10.8?

Another year, another cat. The last major release was 10.5. Since then, its been an exercise in treading water. We can only hope for something to wow us.

Hope they can shake some of the stale off of it. I've been using it since the iPhone release day in 2007, and not much has changed in the look/feel. The purple glass. for want of a better term, could use a refresh.

T-Minus 44 minutes! (it was an hour when I started typing lol)
And my iPad 2 is getting delivered today!! :D
Kinda mad though because I found out they start the back to school promotion in a few days, which includes a $50 gift card with a new iPad. :(

We're gonna see iOS 6 today, which there have been rumors of a change to a silver design scheme rather than the blue we're so used to, but I'm most excited about APPS for the Apple TV! I hope it's released today and not just previewed, because the wait for iOS5 was torture, but we haven't even seen a widespread developer preview (it was leaked today? or a few days ago I'm not sure). I jailbreak all my devices anyway (if possible) and use winterboard, so the design hasn't become real stagnant for me, but I can definitely say that it needs a refresh.

Expected features include Siri for the iPad (and possibly every device), Siri SDK (maybe), Apple TV SDK, Facebook integration (finally! the app sucks, apple can do it better), and updates to iCloud with a few features. Oh, and Apple's own map/navigation app.

It's likely they will demo a few more features of Mountain Lion as well.

Specs have been leaked for new Mac Pros, and New MacBook Pros with the same logic board as current models, suggesting no major redesign of the case, unless they release another model alongside the current design lineup (sort of like a MBA on steroids)

Doubtful we will see the iPhone 5, they usually release iPhones in fall.

I thought they usually announced them in June and released them in the fall with the 4s being the exception..... no?

Did anyone else see the leaked specs for Mac Pro? Did I read them right? Using AMD 5770 cards? I hope that's not the case. I mean, those cards are...2 generations old.

omg usb 3 mba. no retina mba :(.

wait...there is mba, mbp, and new mbp??

retina on new mbp? weird.

15.4", 2880x1800. Holy cow. That's higher than current 27" screens.

I foresee a lot of Window power users moving to this if there aren't any competitors to that resolution soon...I'm drooling at the thought of how many Visual Studio windows I can have open at once on it.

Called it, separate retina model.

The reason for the separate model actually seems to be because they are dumping pretty much everything legacy or accessory wise. It doesn't even have a network port.

I'm glad they kept the Pro in its own line with the ports that power users will need.

That video card is going to choke on gaming at that rez. I play diablo III on my imac at 2560x1440 with a 6970m 2gb and in OSX I get a whopping 15fps. I have to play in windows and I get 30fps. With a higher rez and a worse card there's just no way.

the only one I will miss is the ethernet port, and even using that is very rare, usually only updating my router.

Professionals care about the screen, speed, and storage space. It's adding so many features that are beneficial, that the removal of legacy ports don't matter much.

Firewire is pretty much dead, I'm surprised they kept it this long. Ethernet isn't something essential to everybody, thanks to WiFi, and people that need it, well they have an option for the adapter. It's not as if they are just leaving those niche users behind, they are offering options, but why wallow in the past?

and it's $2200!!! holy shit.

2.3 quad core, 8GB base ram and a 256SSD for $2200....wow

This is what I am thinking too...

No clue what in the world apple is smoking out of...

The insane resolution is going to take down the raw performance, not mention the new iPad is already having this problem. Scaling up the imagine is not a option, since it blurs everything.

Overall, I am glad they keep the original Pro line, which is what I will be buying in the end.

I'm in for that base model. I could have a dozen terminals open still watch cartoons on youtube.

Not impressed with documents in the cloud. I don't care if they are in the cloud as I still have to create them on an apple device. I'd be more impressed if I could create the documents on the website like google docs. Also needs collaboration.

WHERE IS THE 13in with 650m! must've read it wrong :(.

You can scale it up from 1440x900 and it'll look just as good as it does on the standard display.
Still no word on the iPhone...I'm getting worried...
It's way too soon for an iPhone announcement. But maybe I'm wrong, we'll see.

yea the videocard is going to choke bad unless you so 1440x900 and scale it. Even then its not going to be all that great.

Here is to hoping for iMacs with retina. Ill buy today if they have retina.

2560x1600 isn't high enough to run even 2 windows of visual studio comfortably, so 2880 won't be much difference.

That laptop sounds sexy but god lord is it pricey. I hope Sharp offers up its version of retina display's for the PC soon as they are in production.

imacs don't need retina. You can't see a damn pixel on them anyways. It's just going to kill the video card. The 6970m can barely keep up as is at 2560x1440.

What video card is in the new thin MBPs? Hopefully the 650M like the refreshed MBPs?
