Hi all. I'd like to find some DDR3 ECC/Nonbuffered RAM.

I'm looking for 2X 4GB, or 2X 2GB, or 2X 1GB

I have 8GB right now, and mem gets a bit low sometimes. Board uses Triple Channel. I have 6 RAM slots, 4 populated, 2 underpopulated. So even 2X 1GB would give me a bit of headroom. But I would love to get 2X 4GB, bringit the computer up to a respectable 16GB.

System:
Dell Precision T3500
Proprietary X58 Mobo
Xeon X5672
4X 2GB sticks = 8GB
120GB SSD Boot Drive
1TB WD Blue 7200 Spinner
160GB WD VelociRaptor 10K Spinner
3TB WD Ext 5400 Spinner
eVGA GTX 750 Ti SC

Thanks in advance.

buschman31, thanks, but would have to be two sticks. 6 mem slots, triple chan. 4 populated.

I'll look, I think I have a pair of ECC ram from a server upgrade a couple of weeks ago. Pretty sure it was a pair of 4 gig chips.

Come on, folks, doesn't anybody have two sticks of 1GB, 2GB or 4GB DDR3 ECC Unbuffered memory to spare?

8 GB is starting to be a bit cramped. A total addition of even 2GB would be good. But would love 2 X 4GB in order to take the system memory to a respectable 16GB.

Specs
:

Dell Precision T3500
Proprietary X58 Mobo, Trip Chan Mem
Xeon X5672 4/8 3.2 Ghz/3.6 Ghz
4X 2GB sticks = 8GB
120GB SSD Boot Drive
1TB WD Blue 7200 Spinner
160GB WD VelociRaptor 10K Spinner
3TB WD Ext 5400 Spinner
eVGA GTX 750 Ti SC

Thanks!

What you really need is 3 sticks of 4GB... Using 4 slots is slower than running 3 slots, and mis matching RAM is a headache waiting to happen.

I can get you 3 stick of 4GB for 12GBs of RAM, for pretty cheap ($25 shipped?), but you have to promise me you will only use these sticks. lol! You will run MUCH faster.

What you really need is six 4Gig Dimms to max it out at 24Gigs , I'll look this week on Tuesday when I go in to the server farm .... but I think what I have are a bunch of 16 Gig sticks.

Simplyfun, yeah, I would absolutely love to get six 4GB Dimms. I wouldn't even have to worry about ECC or not. The only reason I need ECC for two slots now is because the other four are populated by ECC memory. But unless you are extraordinarily generous there's just no way that I could afford to buy six sticks of 4GB from you. But please do let me know what ya have.

Thanks!

I got a bunch but they are DDR3L.

Let me know if it that works.

If I have them they will be inexpensive, There is a box sitting there full of RAM because I've mostly moved on to larger dimms. I KNOW none of them are two gig dimms. The question is how many fours there are or all they all eights, because the smallest size in use in the servers now is 16. They're my servers and I don't bother with inventory management.

Simplyfun, looking forward to seeing what you have. That, and what kind of deal we can make. Thanks for taking the time to dig through the stuff.

Hi. I don't think DDR3L would work. And I'm kind of stuck needing ECC Non-Registered, to match what's already installed.

Thanks for trying, though!

These are ecc nonregistered. Only diff is low voltage. 1.35V. Don't know if you motherboard supports it.

I have a Z400 with is triple channel memory and it supports my DDR3L ECC fine.

And my offer is still on the table for 12GBs (3 sticks) for $25 Shipped.

I checked, I have a lot of eights and sixteens, the only 4's I had were 2x4 ECC registered. In fact all the memory in the crap box is registered.
