Because I can't leave well enough alone; Anyone have a 980Ti 6GB for around $50? I'd rather get one from a board member than off Ebay that has been flogged to death in a mining rig no doubt.

Reason for 9 series is last supported Nvidia card for WinXP 32 bit (retro gaming box) and even then have to modify the INF file.

...I have a 660ti...
Appreciate it but already have a 960 in the machine... figured I'd upgrade to a 980ti as in benches it's up to 50% faster.

Final upgrade as the platform is a quad core phenom and it does not support SSE4.2 or AVX needed in more modern games.

So far the newest game interested in running is Doom 2016 which actually runs very well with everything on.

Doom Eternal and Cyberpunk 2077 are a no go due to the CPU shortcomings mentioned above.

I have one laying around but it has a waterblock attached and I have long lost the OEM shroud. Doubt you want it

I have a 980Ti that currently has an AIO with a NZXT G12 mount. I'll see if I can find the stock heatsink for it.

Yeah, 4GB. Did they ever have a 6GB GTX 980? I thought only the Ti version had 6GB.
Nope, 6 gb was only the Ti, 980 had 4 GB and 970 3.5 GB as we all know lol.

Kinda sad that we're still stuck at the 8 GB buffers that came with the 10 series for a lot of cards, a decade later.

Hell from a perf/watt perspective we're still mostly at 2022 levels introduced with the 4090/80, the 5090 is just a tweaked/enlarged 4090 with a proportionally high power draw.
