Okay so newegg has this on sale as open box Cyberpower. - $1569.99

I build pretty much the same exact components on pc part picker for the cheapest price. - $1737.39

It is about $200 cheaper and comes with some gaming mouse and keyboard.
(That I would just let sit and collect dust.)

Only thing is Newegg gives you this disclaimer.

Newegg only guarantees your receipt of the Open Box product with the purchase of this item.
Any accessories MAY OR MAY NOT be included.
Newegg will NOT send you any missing accessories, even if it is required to use all of the item's functions.

Maybe there is no GTX 980 in the case, maybe it is just missing a SATA cable.

Seems like a big risk.

Would you do it?
 
I would consider the mouse and keyboard to be accessories. A video card isn't an accessory; it's a required piece of the product. The only thing I'd really be worried about is what motherboard is in there.
 
The last sentence in the disclaimer says, "even if it is required to function."

Seems to me like they could mean a component of the computer.

Maybe I should talk to a newegg rep to confirm this.

Also I checked Cyberpower website to see what the base mother board is,
from what I saw they were using MSI X99 SLI.

Which is getting very decent reviews for the price.
 
Nope, not worth it. The build quality and customer support issues aren't worth the savings.
 
I would demand a full description.
Otherwise report them for running an unauthorised lottery.

Worse than that, from the description, they are trying to give themselves a license to scam you, it doesnt even have to work!
That and the cost is ridiculous for the risk and it being a lottery.
 
The extra $200 is worth it in the long run, and probably short.
I have not bought anything open box before but it seems to be a gamble.
If you don't mind rolling the dice with your $1500+ machine then go for it! :D
