Worthy Upgrade?

Hi,

I have the following

Gigabyte Mobo
Intel C2D 6400
2 GB Ram
8600GT Geforce
Xi Fi Fatality
Win XP Pro

I installed Age of Conan and basically it runs like shit. The only other game I play is WoW which runs fine. Ive been debating holding off and doing a full rebuild with a Q6600. With this new game I've gotten the urge to splurge lol.

I was considering getting the following items. The card should be a nice upgrade and the 4GB ram. I have been wanting to try Vista and figured what better time then now to take advantage of the 4GB of Ram? Would this be a noticable upgrade in performance or should I just stick it out a little while and do a complete rebuild till WOTLK WoW expansion is released?

Just a simple upgrade to the 8800GT will provide a significant performance increase in games. The extra 4GB of RAM and Vista 64bit should help a little bit as well.

What PSU do you have?
 
ATNG made, 35A on the +12V rail....should be enough I guess. However I'm not 100% if that PSU can actually provide 35A on the +12V cleanly and with no trouble. Personally I wouldn't trust it since I'm a bit more discriminating when it comes to PSUs but it should be fine for your needs.
 
If I were you, I'd just upgrade the video card to an 8800GT or a 9600GT (8800GT is the better of the two). I would stick with Windows XP and the 2GB of RAM and possibly upgrade the processor to an E7200 or an E8400 if supported by your motherboard.
 
Anyone think there will be better deals on the above items this coming memorial day weekend?? I am a snatch hair away from pulling the CC out and ordering these.
