Hi there! I'm thinking if it's the right time for upgrade some parts Any help ?
1) What will you be doing with this PC? Gaming? Photoshop? Web browsing? etc
Gaming, use Virtualization, and regular stuff
2) What's your budget? Are tax and shipping included?
My max is about 350 USD
3) Which country do you live in? If the U.S, please tell us the state and city if possible.
Poland
4) What exact parts do you need for that budget? CPU, RAM, case, etc. The word "Everything" is not a valid answer. Please list out all the parts you'll need.
***
5) If reusing any parts, what parts will you be reusing? Please be especially specific about the power supply. List make and model.
I've got Antec Trupower 500W modular
Gigabyte 6850OC -new
2x4GB Corsair VenganceLP DDR3 -new
couple Sata Drivers(2x500GB, 1x640GB, 1x320GB)
thermaltake contac 29 bp - new
6) Will you be overclocking?
Yes
7) 7) What is the max resolution of your monitor? What size is it?
IIYAMA 26" 1920x1200 FullHD
8) When do you plan on building/buying the PC?
This month
9) What features do you need in a motherboard? RAID? Firewire? Crossfire or SLI support? USB 3.0? SATA 6Gb/s? eSATA? Onboard video (as a backup or main GPU)? etc.
RAID, USB3, SATA 6gb are the most important to me
10) Do you already have a legit and reusable/transferable OS key/license? If so, what OS? Is it 32bit or 64bit?
Win7 Ultimate 32/64bit box
I've got Phenom B50 x4@3700Mhz, Asus M4A77D Pro, Fractal Core3000 case.
There is a problem with that mobo. It's not 100% stable, i've noticed problems with sata controller - sometimes all drives aren't recognized properly - i've also got couple bluescreens related to sata controller. I'm thinking that the problem is with mobo. I had previously gigabyte 790x-us3p with that cpu and it worked without any problem.
There are couple ways that i can do.
1. Replace only mobo with something new like 970 or 990x chipset and leave rest stuff.(or maybe buy ssd )
2. Replace mobo and cpu to 1556 and but used i5/i7 with also used mobo - the prices are quite tempting.
3. Replace mobo and cpi to 1366 platform. I've noticed that someone sells gigabyte x58-ud5 for low price - i could buy i7 920 to that mobo.
4. Replace mobo and cpu to amd 970 or 990x chipset and buy phenom II 1055t
The problem is that i don't know for sure if i notice any difference with performance. on the other hand replacing mobo to sth new and leave old cpu that has sometimes problem with forgetting that i've unlocked it make any sense? It will be cheaper for sure but i'm not sure it is worth it when i think long term. I'd don't thing really that 1055t makes any performance difference.
Is it really worth to pay extra and buy i5 2500K and p67z68 mobo ? It is really that big performance gain in compare to my phenom clocket at 3700Mhz ? - i'd love to oc that 2500K to 4-4,2Ghz if i could
I realize that i've got so many options thats why please help mi with my decision
