worth the overclock?

ive been messing around with overclocking this 3700+ clawhammer all day.the best i can seem to do and keep temps under 55c is 2.53 gigz, around 285 fsb while running mem divider at 166mhz,and a 11x multiplier.anything higher than this,prime95 produces errors.my question is,is it worth it? i mean am i harming my system by running it on the edge.i realize im taking a chance.
 
well, just a few questions: what voltage have you upped your CPU to? how long have you left prime to run at this speed? what motherboard and ram are you using, what have you set those to?

on the whole, i would say that if you can get your temps down by just a bit via better case airflow, or some similar low-cost solution, then your current arrangement should be fine.
 
ive got good airflow,and a good heatsink,the fan on the heatsink spins at 1400rpm,a 3000rpm fan would be great.ill post the information you requested in a bit.
 
Maybe drop it down to an even 2.5ghz and let it go from there.
