Woot Off!

The woot off is dead...

let the thread for it RIP please.... for the love of BOC!!!

Not anymore!! This is 2010 dude!!

"As of 2008, advances in fugu research and farming have allowed some farmers to mass produce non-toxic fugu. Researchers surmised that fugu's tetrodotoxin came from eating other animals that had the tetrodotoxin-laden bacteria, and developed immunity over time. Many farmers now are producing 'poison-free' fugu by keeping the fugu away from tetrodotoxin-laden bacteria. Usuki, a town in Ōita Prefecture, became famous for selling non-poisonous fugu. No one has been poisoned eating it yet"

Just get the (mostly) non-toxic fugu! And besides, paying $400 for these knives doesn't make them a "fugu hiki" ...

Ok for someone that just wants try it that's fine. But there are sushi enthusiast that love the toxin from fugu. And yes, I know alot of the skill comes from the Chef and not the knife, but the chef requires an accurate cut to ensure only a small amount of toxin is released so that the fugu maintains it's tingly after effect. Yes it is fucking weird but people actually like to eat fugu with a small amount of toxin. In any case, I would complete justify the cost of a 400$ knife set. Maybe not this specific one, but there are much better knives for the cost.
