That's what I know about a system being sold in my area for $690. If I buy it I will be upgrading the video card, but the rest seems pretty solid. I was wondering what your guys' opinions on this system are? Any and all feedback would be greatly appreciated. :D The quicker the better, too, cause I'll probably make my decision some time later today (I just found the add today and just got feedback from the guy. He still has it. I'm not sure how much longer he will have it though. :p)

The P5B can't OC, unless theres a new BIOS for it. You want the P5B-E or P5B Deluxe, but not the vanilla. If you're thinking, "I don't want to OC," then that'll be your loss. These chips have so much headroom, that even a 1GHz OC isn't enough to make them unstable.

I'd suggest replacing the PSU (whether or not you replace the vidcard). Thermaltakes are crap.

Is this thing used? Just curious. The build comes out to about $800-$900 brand new, FYI.

I don't know much about this MB. I've had so many problems with Asus boards lately. I'd use a Gigabyte.

Also, look for another 7600GS. May be this or this.

Yes, you may have to look for another PSU.

Wait so you're only buying locally or just doing a price comparison?

What kind of computer store is in you area anyway?

i dont get why every1 says that psu sucks.i have it, its faithful cools well and silent. gives me enough power for my pc in sig.

well, as is, for $690, looks good to me, but....what kind of vid card are you thinking of? That will answer the psu question.

I was thinking about an 8800gts 640mb, or maybe one of the new mid-range ATI cards whenever they release them. :-p

And yes, there was a BIOS update that allows for much higher OCing. :) I just did some research on it. Thanks for pointing that out, would have been a deal breaker if I couldn't OC it. :-p

Oh, and Danny Bui, I'm just buying locally. This is a PC some guy built and is selling now due to various increases in the cost of living, IE buying a new house and whatnot. Doesn't see the point in running his desktop when he uses his laptop so much now, and he could use the money elsewhere. :p

Thanks for your insight everyone!
