Wondering About PSUs and OCing

I have recently finished my system upgrade, it is nothing amazing, but it is fast no doubt. I have come to the conclusion that I may have gone a little light on the PSU and I was wondering how you all maintain huge OCs 24/7 and how the PSUs take it.

System:
8150 4.7ghz, 1.488v
2x Reference 6870s 1050mhz/1130mem, 1.3v
16 gig Mushkin 993997 @ 2080mhz, 1.7v
Rosewill Capstone 750w

With that and the fans/pumps/hdd/ssd etc my system draws an amazing 840 watts from the wall! Taking in the efficiency of the PSU, I am very very close to its 100% rating.

For bigger gfx cards, say SLI 680 and an 8150, how big a PSU will I need? 1200w? Put it in this section as it has nothing to do with stock power draw, as we all know the 8150 is a HOG at high voltage.

You would need to list every single thing in the system to get a full picture of power draw. But with whats listed and making a few guesses, I would say it uses under 600W. What are you using to test the power draw? Those kill-a-watts are known for not being right (if that's what you are using). I have seen this myself as I had seen some pretty high power draws from my PC with a borrowed KAW, it made me think I needed a better PSU, until I thought about the parts I had and how it could not be that much power draw. A little ways down the road I got an UPS and under the same kind of load (IBT) the whole system was pulling 320W, much more believable from the KAW readings.

The 680's in the same system would be about 650W, so you would want something 750W+.

Full system:

Crosshair V
8150
2x6870
16gigs ram
2x 1tb hdd
1x 750g hdd
1x 60g ssd
xspc 750 res/pump
3x Panaflo 120x38 2600rpm fans
3x yate loon 120 high fans
3x yate loon 140 high fans
3x 200m coolermaster 200mm fans
3x 80mm yate loon medium fans
fan controler
ram fan setup, 2x60mm 3500rpm fans
intel pcie NIC
no optical drive
that should be everything that pulls power from the PSU, there is another pump but its an AC pump.

the KW is what I am using, that psu measure 88.7% efficient at max power at johnyguru and similar at hardocp's own review of it.

so even if the KW is off by 10% im still around 700w :O

FYI this does belong in the power supply subforum.

850 watts would be more than sufficient for an overclocked 8150 and overclocked GTX 580s (these draw more power than the 680s).
