Wolfenstein Dated for August 4

Seems to me there was a pretty considerable video about it not too long ago. It looked pretty badass. :cool:

looking forward to this. i just took a trip for work and loaded RTCW on my laptop to replay. i forgot how good that game is. when i got back home i installed it on my desktop and continued on. looks like i'm playing all the way through it again. great game.
 
I'm really looking forward to a good old fashioned Wolfenstein game.

Fallout 3 and Stalker and all that sandbox fps/rpg stuff is really cool but............I'm ready for this.

Whoa now, don't go calling Stalker a sandbox game, its based around true events (somewhat) and is one of the best shooters ever created.

As for Wolfenstien. I can't wait!.

No, it is not. Just because it is nonlinear doesn't make it your run of the mill sandbox game. Even though the game is wide open , there is only one way to complete objectives. Also the game has borders, so really its linear just on a wider scale, like many others labeled "sandbox" , I've never really understood the title in the first place, no matter how open ended and free they make a game , its always shy of being truley free of boundaries. I guess if you wanted to be technical you could call it a sandbox game since a box has 4 sides but that would be silly.

if you get bored, download RTCW:ET its a stand alone free mod of RTCW.. more arcade style.. but fun as hell..
 
Many of the people that worked on the new Wolfenstein game's mp, worked for Splash Damage. Also I've read Wolf's MP uses a modified Quake Wars engine. SP uses the latest tech 4.

The MP was being handled by Threewave ?

But they quit or got fired a few years ago. The contract went to a new start up company, Endrant Studios, which is composed of former Splash Damage employees and new talent.

I have very high expectations for this game. It should be the "official" Wolfenstein MP successor to Wolf ET, not counting Quake Wars since that wasn't axis/allies and skewed heavily in the sci-fi direction.
 
Ugh I tried to play RTCW:ET again like a week ago and I joined 2 servers, and it auto downloaded the clan's mods to my computer now the homescreen for the game is all rainbow....

Fail.

delete the pk3 file or whatever.

I played ET hardcore for years but haven't touched it in a long time.

easily changed by going into the mod list and selecting a different mod..
