I am looking for a wireless antenna for a while and was wondering what you guys think. I am looking for something in the 8-up dbi range and not relay caring on the size. I also need one that plugs into the usb port.

thanks

Do you mean wireless adapter? I've never heard of an antenna that plugs into a usb port. 8+ dbi is a pretty large range...do you want a directional antenna or not?

Found a couple different ones on MWave. If you get one definitely sign up for the discount. I have not had experience with these before so I cant comment on performance.

Only 5dBi antenna but its the cheapest option I could find:

This one looks to be wireless G, not N. So if you are using N dont get this one:

http://www.mwave.com/mwave/skusearc... PT-H9DN Max Distance Wireless 802.11b/g/n 1W
I think this is the same one you saw on newegg:
http://www.mwave.com/mwave/skusearc...k PT-H18DN Gamebase High Power Wireless USB 2.

I've had good luck with this puppy:

Keep in mind that neither of these adapters have high-gain/directional antennas; you will have to buy one separately or make one (both of them take 3rd party antennas). A high-gain antenna is not really any better than low-gain -it will give better reception when aimed in the right direction, but worse reception otherwise.

Personally, I don't really care for high-gain antennas because I don't like having to fuss around with the antenna position every time I move.
