wireless antenna

I am looking for a wireless antenna for a while and was wondering what you guys think. I am looking for something in the 8-up dbi range and not relay caring on the size. I also need one that plugs into the usb port.

Do you mean wireless adapter? I've never heard of an antenna that plugs into a usb port. 8+ dbi is a pretty large range...do you want a directional antenna or not?

Wireless adapter sorry learning as I go anyway ya directional would be ok I would like to go 8+ so I can just get one and not have to worry about upgrading anytime soon.

It won't get much better than that one. There are a bunch of cheap copies that look exactly like that one (same casing, same antenna, etc) but they're not actually made by Alfa so, beware of the shitty imitators and get a real Alfa unit like this one.

Found a couple different ones on MWave. If you get one definitely sign up for the discount. I have not had experience with these before so I cant comment on performance.

Keep in mind that neither of these adapters have high-gain/directional antennas; you will have to buy one separately or make one (both of them take 3rd party antennas). A high-gain antenna is not really any better than low-gain -it will give better reception when aimed in the right direction, but worse reception otherwise.

Personally, I don't really care for high-gain antennas because I don't like having to fuss around with the antenna position every time I move.
