Windows Updates Bombing Startups Repeatedly

This latest batch of windows updates - the ones that are coming at the rate of roughly 3 per night - appear to be involved in my windows experiencing startup problems at work and at home, (both licenses come from the same source).

Anyone else experiencing this?

Work I'm using xp/32, at home it's 7/64. Both places I have microsoft office, mozilla, and maybe the script-jammer app (definitely at home). But none of those apps should affect startup.

I have my machine set to download and prompt so I do them all at once....no issues on Win 7/64

I'm not sure what to tell you, I keep my computer updated and I'm having no problems. W7/64
