I have an SR-2 that I loaded with 48GB of ram after a recent newegg sale (~$100 for an extra 24gb?? why not!) and would like to use around 30gb as a ram drive to hold my BF3 and Skyrim installs. Does anyone have any recommendations for software to accomplish this? Ideally I would want these to backup to non volatile storage and then restore on system boot if possible.

Thanks in advance!

Wow that's a lot of ram! I had found some software about 6 mos ago but I don't remember what it was. I'll look and see what I can find.

this lets you use as much ram as you want for free. I've never tried it with startup images, but I know it will be capable of that AND using as much ram as you need on your 64bit OS. you could probably script that part with two batch files if absolutely necessary.

That is sweet, too bad I only have 16GB of RAM and BF3 takes up 11.4GB on the disk.

I use Dataram RAMDisk on my 64bit Windows OS. I don't know the max size allowed but it does save an image to disk for reboot.
