I installed a raid card into my computer recently, and in the process formatted an apparently blank drive, the drive said it was active and primary but it wasn't my os drive, which is an ssd.

Come to find out the ssd offloaded the boot partition to the random drive.
Computer wouldn't boot after I tried to restart.
No I biggie was planning on reinstalling windows on the ssd anyway.

Realized my friend still had my usb of windows 7 x64, I only had a xp 32bit.
My drives had previously been set to achi, but for the xp install I turned them back to normal.

After booting into xp, I made another windows 7 x64 usb. Changed drives to ahci again and installed a clean install of windows 7.

Everything seems fine, except when I removed the thumb drive my computer will no longer boot as ahci, only normal. It hangs at the moving windows logo.

I am fine with ahci disabled but this just bugs me. I tried the regedit to enable ahci, but it is already "set" to ahci, regardless of bios settings.

Any input would be great, kinda stumped on what caused this.
