I have been wrestling with my out of warrenty 160GB Maxtor drive which i think may be the culprit, and I am trying to get a grant for RMA anyways, but before I do I want to see if anyone else agrees with me. I have never had problems with the drive in the past, but its all I can assumine. I reset my BIOS to kill my overclock and formatted and reistalled windows, same problems. Infact, the first go at windows I let go over night, and stopped it the next morning after making almost no progress. STarted agian and it was fine. Then, for the first time in the week I have been fighing this, I got a BSOD. I then though maybe its my ram. So, I ran memtest86 for 7 hours straight, no errors. That rules out the ram. Anything else it could be? RIght now I am running windows stripped to the bone. Nothing is installed. THe only driver is my LAN driver so I can get online. Still, I am getting it. Is there any way to diagnos the drive to see if thats it?

Also, could a 2nd drive used as storrage cause windows to lock up?
