Hi all...

just wondering what is the boot time everybody is getting under WinXp Sp2.

The specs of my rig are in the singature....and I was hoping to get faster boot times with a dual core CPU...

I'm around 30 seconds...

Anyone can help me a bit to lower it?

Thanks

Emanuele

I get 1 minute boot times.

The motherboard has to scan a dual channel SCSI card with 3 HDD's and two optical drives.

Your 30 seconds sounds good.

Yeah, about 30 seconds here at work and at home.

30 seconds isn't a big deal. It probably takes you longer to piss than it does for the SATA controller to boot.

Just read the above and yes...controllers are a nice way to add boot time. Once that happens the progress bar should fly with a modern machine.

Longer than I care to count. My most used system is a PIII 600 with 4 IDE drives and 2 SCSI drives. Before too long it's going to have an IDE controller card in it, also. Talk about long startup times for me. :(

Thanks guys...

seems that I am fine then!

Trying to optimize services and startups processes now :)

mine usally is around 30 sec, but theres some days that it takes like 3 min. Anyone have this?
