Windows 8.1 Install ISO

Hey all,

I'm just done ordering parts for my HTPC upgrade. My current HTPC is running on an OEM Windows 8 license I bought. Because it is an OEM license, I can't use the trick described many places online to download the Windows 8.1 ISO directly from Microsoft.

I have also been unsuccessful in finding the usual digital river links for a Windows 8.1 ISO.

The thought of installing from 8.0 media and then doing an immediate upgrade hurts my brain in its stupidity.

Can anyone recommend a good source where i can grab a clean untouched Windows 8.1 Pro x64 ISO?

Here is your fix:

Download an untouched MSDN ISO and get a properly configured ei.cfg file inserted into the ISO.

i can link you to magent link if you use torrents. Its a legit copy that you would need to activate.

Basically if you have a retail or OEM key then download the Core/Pro ISO.

VL = Volume lic

not sure what N is. I recommend the link for the Core version. it is the retail / Oem version that can be activate a few different ways. its an Untouched MSDN ISO

Recommend free Hashtab CRC utility:
http://implbits.com/hashtab.aspx

You'll need to install with a "generic Windows 8.1 Pro placeholder key" (Google this) then once installed activate with your key.
