I understand the security risks with this. But I was wondering is it possible to have a server automatically login after a restart using a specified username / password?

I have a version of TweakUI (2003) that works for Windows 2003 Server. I'll check if it has the auto-login section.

yes, we do it here with one of our auto-reboot-at-night-has to be logged in-in the morning-machines...

it basically works just like the autologin for windows XP. There is a microsoft page for it if your search microsoft.com

Why would you want to do this? All the services are running once you are at the login page.

All the services yes, but some 3rd party products don't use services... :(

srvany from the resource kit will turn them into services though !

You can manually enter the info into the registry or you could use TweakUI for XP/2003.

Not if they need graphical hooks or a copy of Explorer running to expose certain APIs.
