Windows 10, 980ti, Gsync enabled.

Turning the vsync setting off in Nvidia CP (so that when you go over your refresh rate, vsync doesn't kick in and cause input lag) causes any 3D application to grind to a halt straight away, at any FPS.

Is anyone else getting this? I found 5 people posting about it on the geforce forums but thats it, no solutions... :(

why not limit fps so it won't go over your monitors refresh rate ?

I just tried to disable my 144fps limit and don't see any issue besides some screen tearing, even with sli..

I did limit it as a temporary fix... I just don't like the idea of the looming threat of input lag lingering out there, waiting to strike, rather set it to OFF and have peace of mind.

I can confirm this, was happening to me as well. Currently using MSI Afterburner to limit fps to 135 - and after testing have not seen any additional input lag from the 4ms my monitor gets on average.

Anyone still have this issue?

I'm still getting it, even with the latest drivers (including the gsync "Fix" drivers).
Cant disable vsync /w gsync on or FPS drop to 1FPS

ASUS ROG SWIFT
980TI
Windows 10

This means I have to limit FPS to 143 in every game (that pushes those framerates) and hope thats working and that there is no added input lag from vsync kicking on

Is it possible to enable Gsync and adaptive Vsync simultaneously?

As far I know I think isn't possible as you have to disable V-Sync in order to be able to use G-Sync.

Adaptive V-Sync isn't even an option when G-Sync is enabled in the NVCP, as far as I'm aware, because both options are under the same pulldown menu. Either way, Adaptive V-Sync by itself works with V-Sync in the game disabled, as it overrides the behavior of V-Sync the same way forcing another form of V-Sync does. G-Sync with V-Sync on basically behaves exactly like Adaptive V-Sync does, anyway, without the frame syncing.

Grind to a halt meaning? What're the symptoms? Crashes?

I'm using a 970 OCed on Windows 10 and it's rock stable, V-Sync'ed or not.

Besides, if you're on a 144Hz monitor, is input lag really still that bad? There's only been 2 games I've had to un-vsync cause of input lag and they were NBA 2K15 and NBA 2K16, lol.

He means the game will run in single-digit FPS. A lot of people are reporting the issue over on the official GeForce forums. I believe it has existed since the driver that was released when Windows 10 was RTM in July. This only happens with G-Sync enabled and V-Sync off in Windows 10.

980ti, windows 10, rog swift here.

Haven't touched anything in nvidia control panel.

Vsync off works fine in all games I've played. That's all I got...

i've used my PG278Q with both the latest official driver and the gsync performance hotfix driver and vsync off in win 10 with no issues.

Yeah, thats why I bumped the thread now that its been a few driver revisions (including the gsync fix) and mentioned I was still having the issue with the fix drivers.

I guess I can try a reinstall of windows 10, but I've found this issue on the geforce.com forums and the nvidia sub-reddit so I'm not sure if it will fix anything.

What are your nv control panel settings and what game(s)? I can try to duplicate the issue.

I strictly use ulmb, gsync off / vsync off / 144hz refresh rate.

Only thing I've noticed since going to 10 is that I get worse tearing in the middle of my screen with frame rate cap at 58 (60 hz monitor) and no VSync. Was much better on 7 for whatever reason.

Have you tried capping it at 59 instead?

I can give it a try...did that make a significant difference for you?

With me when I have v-sync off and g-sync enabled my FPS is limited to 144Hz in nearly everything I do and it introduces greater input lag than v-sync w/ no gsync

I eventually just disabled v-sync & g-sync and went with straight ULMB and have been incredibly happy with the results.

Rig is in sig
