Will this tubing work?

get tygon tubing, if you really want i think they make black tygon tubing

I have the 1/2" clear tubing from lowe's and i have never had a problem with it.

Arcygenical has tried a lot of stuff out so 1) I believe his accessment 2) I think that looks/sounds like fairly rigid/hard tubing that will kink easy. But........

The thing to do is look (in your mind's eye) at your planned setup and visualize what bends you are going to have to make. If still in the planning stage a sketch of your case layout and tubing runs is a good thing to make. Anyway get an idea of the tightest bend you will need to make and just drop in Lowe's and see what happens when you try to bend that stuff the way you will need too. You will know pretty quickly if there is a problem or not. Kinks are unacceptable. You may be able to use that stuff for most runs and only need expensive stuff for a bend or two, lots of options including putting in fitting to make the bends you need. It just depends on your layout. Another consideration is what kind of fitting will work with that hose, barbs most likely, compression not sure. Until you can "feel" how hard the hose is it is difficult to say much about it.

Several more people sell black, but it is a little harder to find. Link above is not a recommendation, just first link I found.

And of course everyone has an opinion.

I've tried several types. Honestly, I go the local aquarium shop. The sell this stuff called Freds aquarium for like .80 a foot. I get it in black. My setup is really simple with not a lot of tight bends so this works fine for me.
