Ok, so I have picked out my final selections for my system. I just need to know will the entire system fit together properly, esp, is there enough room in my case for this setup?

Case: Thermaltake Armor VA8000BWS ATX/BTX Full Tower Case

PSU: PCP&P TURBO-COOL® 850 SSI

CPU: AMD Athlon 64 FX-60 Dual-Core

Motherboard: Asus A8N32SLIDeluxe Socket 939

Video Cards: BFG Tech 512mb 7800gtx x 2

Sound Card: Audigy 2

DVD Drives: Liteon SOHW DVD/RWs x 2

Hard Drives: WD 36GB Raptor & WD 72GB Raptor

Ram: Corsair TWINX2048-3500LLPRO

CPU Waterblock: Little River Waterblock Storm G5 1/2” or 3/8” OD

GPU Waterblocks: The Danger Den SLI Solution using two NV-78's 1/2” or 3/8” OD:

Radiator: ThermoChill HE120.3 1/2” or 3/8” OD

Resevoir: Typhoon Single 5.25" Bay Reservoir – CLEAR 1/2” or 3/8”

Pump: Hydor SELTZ L 40 II Water Pump - 1/2" or 3/8" Conversion (740 GPH)

Fans: Panaflo 120x38mm Ultra High Speed Fan (FBA12G12U) x 3

I don't know wether to go with 1/2" OD or 3/8" OD. Which should I pick?
 
First of all tubing is measured by ID not OD. Second of all you should get a different pump. If you want an AC pump get an Iwaki MD-20 (since you seem to have an unlimited budget), if you want an easier solution the Laing D5 (aka DangerDen D5, Swiftech MCP655).

What type of fans are you planning on using on your radiator? Any fans that push less than 100cfm and you should get a PA120.3 instead of the HE series.

And a general hardware note...I would get one 150GB raptor instead of the two smaller ones. And you might as well upgrade the sound card to a Creative X-Fi.

QFT, QFT, and QFT ;). I was drumming up almost the exact same post as I was reading. Switch pump to D5, raptors to.... something else. The 36GB raptors arent that great. A 150GB raptor would be good. Two would be better... and looking at the rest of your system, money ain't an issue :eek: :D . Same goes for X-Fi. I'd also switch the ram to a G.Skill or Muschkin PC4000 2GB kit.
 
The timings on the Corsair are the tightest I have seen for 1gb sticks. Also, the drives were from an older system, and I have all my data on them. My old PC died so that is part of the upgrade. the 36gb is merely for the OS and System apps such as office. I may get a 150gb later or a pair in Raid0

However, back to my original question. Will this setup fit inside the case?
 
i suspect that you will be hard pressed to fit a 120.3 rad into you case. maybe if you mount into the side panel or the bottom, it'll work......but i don't think that you can mount into the top.

you should certainly go wtih the PA120.3 as opposed to the HE120.3

a stronger pump is definately in order, although i would go for two laing DDC pumps with 3/8" tubing all around, as opposed to anything else. that's assuming that you have the budget that you seem to be throwing around.

i have had really good experiences with mushkin. corsair has a good rep as well, but i have not used them so i don't really know. personally, i would get 4x512 of mushkin PC4400, since i know that the two sticks that i got on a warrenty claim can hit 300 MHz with CL 2.5 and 2.85 volts..........but it's your call.
 
Well I am kind of a OCing noob so until I am more proficient (I have an older $600 bare bones box I am practicing on) I don't wanna take a chance at frying this puppy. Plus I am going to be doing a lot of heavy content creation (maya, 3dsmax, etc) since I am majoring in computer animation so I need the 4gigs.

However, the SELTZ is rated on Frozen CPU at about 740GPH whereas the Iwaki rd-20 is rated at 540GPH. Doesn't that mean the iwaki is less powerful?

the iwaki is rated to pump 540 GPH with 4 feet of head resistance, wheveras the hydor is rated to pump 740 GPH with zero resistance. if you look along the flow curve, once you get to the 4 feet point, the hydor is actually pumping less.

i kind of suspect that either pump would be rather loud to pair with a 120.3 rad though.......the only reason to go for a rad that large is for quiet opperation with slow fans. if you then throw a relatively loud pump in there........not much point to it, IMO.

niksub runs super strong pumps with a triple rad, however he describes his systems as "the essence of overkill" which i rather agree with.
 
Well that is kind of what I am looking for. I am a spare person when it comes to pretty much everything else - this is my one real pet.

Quick question though - loud, we talking 100db, or 150db? Cause that might be a bit too much for my roommate :D
