Will this adaptor work for eyefinity?

I am curious too, but I really don't see why not.
This would allow a single 69xx card to drive 3 monitors non-eyefinity right?

I may simply not be seeing it, but I cannot find where it actually mentions that adapter is active. And with the price being so low and separate listings for "converting adapters", makes me suspect it is not an active adapter.

The principal is the same. You need an active adapter or native display port to run 3 monitors off of one card. Eyefinity only has the requirement that everything be run off 1 card, removing the ability to simply use the outputs on a second card.
 
For resolutions 1080p and under, you only need a single link ACTIVE adapter...that $30 powercolor unit would work fine. Saphire makes one, and so does Accel...all priced about the same.

If you are running resolutions higher then 1920x1080, then you'll need a dual link active adapter...and those start at $60 and go up. They usually have a separate USB cable for addtional power.

Is that the same for the 5850 cards? I went with the DP to VGA since I thought all of the DP to DVI adapters that worked with eyefinty were $60+.
I am only running 1440x900 on the monitor attached to the Display Port.
 
Read about all the problems people are having with active adapters and eyefinity in general BEFORE investing IMO.

The issues I have had involve the resolution being off on the left monitor requiring reboot, right monitor mirroring the leftmost even though the desktops are grouped (got that fixed), bezel compensation disabled (registry fix didn't work), won't switch between extended desktop and eyefinity desktop w/o screwing up the order of the monitors, photoshop and premiere disable GPU acceleration on eyefinity, and most games having the side monitors severely fishbowled often with the HUDs on the extreme corners of the display and also needing the mouse to be dragged ALL the way over to the far far far left and far far far right before panning the camera. Others have had issues w/ the computer not displaying video if the adapter is plugged in while powering on the machine, high failure rates, and incorrect resolutions for their monitors listed.

Edit: And in utter-frustration with the suckage that is eyefinity, you prop one of your monitors into portrait mode to see how it looks so you can fab a bracket, only to drop it in the process and destroy it, rofl! Don't do it! Don't do it!!! :D

That's the one I'm using with my 6970...works great, no issues at all. My monitors are ordered correctly when I switch between profiles, no flickering, and no resolution or alignment issues. Bezel correction works great, even though I'm using a Dell and two Samsungs.

It will indeed work with your 6970. I currently have the Accell-B087B-0 and it works perfect with my eyefinity setup. (seamless except driver issues)

And you will not need anything else but that adapter to work in eyefinity or to just have three displays up.
