It's been a month since Marty and Zim squared off, and I am still hearing about who has more production. I say it's time for round two. Will they do it?

Thanks for the offer, but intense gearups are for times when we really need it, like when
mary03 and I went at it...right when OCAU was counting the days till overtake, and as I recall Flec wasn't up with his new machines. We did 1.5 million points together during the contest. The whole team pulled together and that's why we are where we are today.

Further, OCAU won't even consider our challenge .they're beat

As you can read from mary03's post above, is still licking his wounds from the loss and probation for calling someone, a goat something not much to challenge. He can get to the 30's per day, (with a little help from his friends), as hard as that is to believe, mary03 has friends????
But not the 40's where I was at the peak.
If mary03 wimps out and pulls machines, and flecom's run on his machines ends in the next few months, as I think he might of mentioned in a post, then we are going to need ongoing folding leadership.
So to the Future:
With the hope that a new ATI GPU core is released later this month, PS3 on the horizon, maybe a the new client version 6 and serious new cpu's from AMD and Intel, the time spent is better spent, in my opinion, evaluating and implementing these solutions which will bring us as a team to even higher levels of production. The past systems/farms/etc could all be simply dust in the wind if a $600 box or card can turn the folding numbers anywhere near to predicted, as far as folding is concerned. Some have already received Christmas early in the form of new Woodcrest cpu's and turning some impressive numbers.
So for the Present:
I think I'll enjoy the [H]Bowl and kick back, have a few beers and kick some eastern division butt.

Guys, this should be fun and competitive but certainly nothing to be angry or harsh with each other about. I would hate to see either of you go as you are 2 of the top 3 producers of the team and as a whole it hurts the science.
Oh yeah and think of the children (for some reason this is always attached to heartfelt pleas for calm

This will sound horrible to say, but I'd rather see you join another team and keep folding than cease folding altogether! (Not to give you any ideas, but if it came down to that..) I hope your joking! It's for the science - to better mankind's knowledge of biology, to move knowledge forward, all of that stuff.. there should be some sort of creed to describe what we do! it's is all love, dim and I actually get alone we just posses the ability to screw with each other with no hard feelings... dim02 LOL new name!
re production machines- long story. In the end, PSU's shooting flames out their bung hole can't be good. I've got a sub set of gear with bad PSU's, which go out folding or not, but with folding it just could look to some as that's why. Under warranty and all that, just my model does not lend itself to down time and service is a bitch.
re other shit, well that's just other shit.
I was worried about it, but so far I haven't had any major issues with my pcs that are in the office. Most of them are old chuggers or semi-old Dell pcs. ~20 machines folding 2-3 years I'd think something bad would have happened by now. It would be fun to see fire shoot from the back of a psu!
I can definitely imagine - and I do appreciate - all the extra work that you ultra high production folders do. It can't be easy to service and support all those machines.
