I've been out of the PC Hardware game for the last few years, wondering if these components will work...specifically wondering if the ram and motherboard are OK for the 1333fsb processor.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?item=N82E16856101034 - Shuttle barebones

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?item=N82E16820231145 - 4gb ddr2-1000 ram

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?item=N82E16819115028 - E6850

Also plan on throwing an 8800GT in there as soon as it's released (tomorrow right?)

Anyways, thanks for the help...btw, is this about the best I can do for the price?

No, not really.

First, you don't need DDR2 1000 RAM with a C2D CPU. All you need is DDR2 667 RAM if you're running the CPU at stock speeds. Though since DDR2 800 RAM is so close in price and will allow the option for overclocking, go with DDR2 800 RAM instead:
G.SKILL F2-6400CL5D-4GBPQ 2 x 2GB DDR2 800 RAM - $170

Second, the E6850 is a waste considering that it costs $100 more than the E6750 yet you only get an extra 333Mhz for that $100. Also, the E6750 and E6850 OC about the same. So the better choice is the E6750 considering all of the above:
Intel Core 2 Duo E6750 CPU - $189

Though if you're gonna spend that much on a CPU, might as well get a quad core CPU:
Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 G0 Stepping CPU - $272

Third, you may want to hit the Small Form Factor forum here for more info on that Shuttle or an mATX setup. Personally, I'd ditch the Shuttle and go with a standard mATX case and mATX mobo because you won't be locked into proprietary hardware. Also, gives you more options in terms of hardware selection.

If I was going to build an mATX setup, I'd go with this:
Ultra Microfly mATX Case - $60
Asus P5K-VM LGA 775 Intel G33 mATX Intel Motherboard - $120
Corsair HX520 520W PSU - $104
---
Total: $284 plus tax and shipping.

Oh and yes the 8800GT is being released tomorrow.

Nice thanks for the quick reply and good info, I think I'll go with the different ram and cpu...however I don't really like that case, maybe ill look for another one as I can save ~$100 by not getting a shuttle.
