Will single rail PSU yield better OC?

Alright so heres the story. I've had my rig in sig for a while now and I've been pretty happy with it. I have had a little trouble with it. I recently found that my 2 8800 GT's were freezing a lot bc one of them was clocked a little high on the memory. The cards would NEVER artifactr, just freeze onec or twice. What I was wonder if this single rail PSU: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817256029 would bring enough power to yield a better OC than I have. Right now I have a CM Real Power Pro 1KW PSU that has 6 12+ rails that I've actually been pretty happy with but it isn't modular. What I was wondering is would anyone else think it's worth going to this new PSU. So what are your thoughts?

NO. Absolutely not.

All a "multiple +12V rail PSU" is is a PSU with a single +12V rail, or sometimes two, split up into multiple +12V outputs.

There's is nothing added or removed to make anything better or worse when you have single vs. multiple +12V rails. All that's added is a current limiter, called an OCP (Over Current Protection) that tells the power supply to shut off if a certain current is exceeded.

The only "by product" of having multiple +12V rails is if whatever current whatever rail we're talking about is exceeded, the PSU shuts down as a safety measure. Your PC is freezing. Freezing, lock ups, lack of ability to OC, etc. would have nothing to do with whether your PSU had one +12V rail or several unless you were experiencing your PC completely shutting down during heavy loads.

Brand and model recomedation please. Money not a problem.

Please make your own thread. I've seen you post in two other threads asking for a PSU recommendation. Just make your own thread and ask your question there.

To the OP:

Do you have your video cards running different clock speeds? I'm not sure that won't cause the kind of problems you're seeing by itself.
