Thats the problem, in some games (only some games) it does not go away with HQ selected.sgi02 said:Yeah , I have seen the shimmering you speak of. Its slightly noticable , but when im playing I really dont care and it dosent bother me in the least. I think as stated before the shimmering is due to some opts in the Forceware drivers and if I turn all opts off I dont get shimmering. I love more FPS myself. FPS > IQ.
Thank you. Most people here seem to think im partially making this up or something.PikachuMan said:My favourite ut2003 map is DM-asbestos, it's really nasty there with the metal-grid floor, like the one with the Keg-o-Health in it.
It isn't normal line aliasing, with my 9700p it never looked like that. It forms something of a moire pattern. Here is a thread showing it in CS:Source.

I did, i had a 9700.HeavenX said:Cali you must of had ati card before u switched to 6800 because I noticed every problem you posted so far on my 6800...I noticed this problem BIG TIME in a game I play alot BF1942...

You have these problems too?
Brent, Kyle could you ask about this? Many people around the web are reporting the prbs.
Nothing stopped it, I tried every god damn driver that exists...Mojo3k70 said:I also see this problem occurring in BF1942 and so far, this is the only game I can see the glitch in. It doesnt bother me at all really, but it IS there. Hard to explain, sort of a "sparkling" effect when moving. Recently I also upgraded to the 65.76 driver set from the 61.77's and it seems to have stopped it.
According to that Beyond3d thread, there are fixes for the moire problem, but not any for the people who are still plauged by the aliasing problem. I guess I am lucky. I will say however my brother who is running the same settings as me on a eVGA 6800GT is having the aliasing problems, so I know it's existent.
That's it, if you play around with the camera angle you'll find it makes a pattern like that.sort of a "sparkling" effect when moving
i get that on my 9800proHeavenX said:After reading this link "http://www.nvnews.net/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=35592&page=7&pp=15"" it appears that all 68xx cards are suffering from the shimmering problem. I too get this problem in all my games especially BF1942. All the texures on the floor seem to be crawling when you walk forward and backwards.
Those of you who are claming that your not experiencing non of these problems you eather must be drunk or high 24/7. Almost everyone who owns the 6800 card is aware of this problem. Click here to see an example of what people are reporting because it appears that some of you dont even know what we're all refering to. Watch and learn.

Cali3350 said:Yes, im glad some of you are seeing it now. This is a roblem that has phased the 68xx series since the begg, and for some reason no reviews seem to even mention it. IMO it looks absolutely horrible, and makes some games like Painkiller unplayable. Nothing gets rid of it, sans upping mod Bias, and thats no solution.
The amount that occurs varies by drivers, so i do not think this is a hardware bug. Someone please bring this to Nvidias attention, as it MUST be addressed.
My old 9700 did not have this problem, nor my brothers X800.
I get shimmering like that with my X800 and my Ti4200 in BF1942. I think it's a problem with the game itself.HeavenX said:After reading this link "http://www.nvnews.net/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=35592&page=7&pp=15"" it appears that all 68xx cards are suffering from the shimmering problem.
