Will [H] review Conroe?

It wasn't, it was just never meant to be a standalone desktop chip for an everyday person like you or me.

Yet it didn't fare too bad when overclocked (or stock, for that matter) against other desktop chips...you could say it "owned" most chips when 'clocked. I guess [H] excludes mobile chips?

There is a large lack of mainboards and support from intel on the matter. just because it can be done does not mean it is feasable to do so, or many of us would have by now, as it is a spectacular peice of silicon.

I agree with you. But there are more available Yonah desktop boards available now than Conroe (yes, I know it hasn't been released). With Intel AND AMD pushing mobile on desktop for HTPC's (low power, cooler running, powerful, etc.), I would've thought a review would be done by now, 'specially on the 'enthusiast' tab.

I am curious, however, what the [H] can show us about Conroe that Anandtech, The Tech Report, XtremeSystems, HotHardware, Aceshardware, Hexus, Legitreviews, Tomshardware, Hothardware, etc. haven't already shown.

I heard rumors that getting desktop boards for Yonah was difficult at first. If those rumors are true, maybe the [H] did not review it for the lack of retail availability. Remember that they did this with ATi's gfx cards once.

I agree, it doesn't put them in the best spot but hey, no ones perfect

In some cases it seemed there was a ban on most Yonah Info and that line about Desktop boards is Bogus as well. There weren't a lot of AM2 boards when it launched, that didn't stop anything.

Hey, [H] waited a while to review the 7950GX2, but when they did it was a kickass review. When they do finally review Conroe, I'm sure it won't be a half-assed review like we sometimes see from lesser sites.

some of the benchmarks has shown that Conroe actually brings more FPS, what I want to know is that is there a noticeable difference between AMD/Intel in gameplay using real world games.

But I REALLY want to know about this;

The X6800 doesn't have as large of a performance-per-clock advantage (only 1.2) over the Athlon 64s as the lower-clocked processors do (usually 1.3). Or atleast it appears that way.

Then again, I've seen a E6600 overclocked to 3.0Ghz (Guru3D Forums) kicking a Opteron 165 3.0Ghz's ass with a 1.6 performance-per-clock ratio.
