Will getting a new PSU solve my problems?

I have been getting several blue screens lately. However the reason why it blue screens is usually different. I have a ABS 800w Modular PSU. I have ran Memtest and various other programs to try and determine the cause of blue screens but can only think that its the PSU. so my question is does anyone think that a new PSU would fix my problem and if yes which one would you recommend for my system (in sig)?

I do not think it is your power supply unless there is something else going on you did not mention. I would reduce my OC first or run stock for a while. Also there are several web sites that will help you decode what the BSOD messages mean with hints as to what caused them. I would be taking down the exact msgs as they occur in a notebook along with what was running, what I was doing when it happened. Check the system event log also.

Of particular interest would be what you where doing when the BSOD occur, only in games ? Only in a particular game, anytime, only when surfing the net etc. etc.

Do not know the specs on that power supply but an 800W unit should be more than sufficient for the hardware you have listed unless it is very weak on the +12.

When i just ran prime 95 for just under 5 min my computer shutdown and will not start back up (think i smelt something burning afterward). I think my 12v rail was faulty. Also, there was not any real specific time when it would blue screen and i even down clocked my CPU and set the voltages back on auto.

Well, if the rig's dead and something smells burnt, then I'd suspect the PSU as a strong contender.

That counts, worth trying a new supply. Better yet an inexpensive one at stock settings so that if it is the motherboard shorted you will not damage a nice new one.
