Will Audigy 2 Platinum Box Work With Basic X-Fi?

I have an Audigy 2 Platinum sound card. I'm thinking about buying just the basic $129.00 X-Fi and using the Audigy 2 break out box with.

I think the X-Fi has the same 26-pin header, so I should be able to use the same data cable. I know the X-Fi break out box does not have a firewire port like the Audigy 2 does, but that's the only difference.

Has anyone tried this? Does it work?
 
i was wondering the same thing
it looks like it will work since they both use the same connecter, you will just have to use a mobo header or something to feed the firewire if you need it

being creative, my first guess would be no..

they did the same thing with the Audigy1 and Audigy2 by changing the pinout of the breaker box connector..


don't be let down when you find out the same thing has been done with the XFi..
 
I saw a thread when the X-Fi first came out at BB where someone claimed they used their old audigy2 breakout box, but claims can be bullshit, you never know...

I would also have to agree with H-Street and say no. Creative is known for being Anti-Backward compatible when it comes to Live Drives and other external boxes.

With that said, it would be cool if somebody got it to work. Let us know if you find out. I
