Do you think the next generation of AMD cards will feature something similar to Nvidia's boost clocking?

Would you prefer something like this? Automatic max voltage set etc.

Personally I like the boost technology thats been implemented although I know some that dislike it. I think I would be more inclined to by an AMD card if this feature was available

Well, the Ghz edition 7970s already have "PowerTune Technology with Boost", so I think it's safe to say the next generation of cards will have a more refined version of that.

Personally, I don't like nVidia dictating max voltages on their cards - if I want to overvolt the crap out of my card, I should be allowed to.

It's a driver thing and as such they can use it on ANY card that supports programmable clocks, which is just about everthing since the original Radeon..... (Same for Nvidia's side of the fence as well)

I was under the impression it was a BIOS thing for AMD cards , that's what the articles I read about it implied. So your original purchase 7950 would need a BIOS flash to get boost working right. Is that not true?

It is bios.

If you have a card that you run faster than the boost it hardly seems worth it.

I game with my HD7950 at 1300/1600.
