Wii restocks?

*grumble* went to 2 best buys an hour before they opened and the lines were literally longer than they were on launch day. this was my last attempt. i'll just wait until i happen to see one on the shelves.

FUCK THIS.

i just got back from best buy... got there at around 7:30am. by the time 9am rolled around, there were about 150 people.

They announced they only had 48 systems and started handing out tickets. I was probably around #75 Parents and siblings waiting in line for just one console each grabbed a ticket.. and were trying to sell their extras.

wonderful. fuckin holiday spirit. assholes.

Mayfield Hts., Northeast Ohio. Showed up at 7am. Phone system was wrong when it said they opened at 9am, they really opened at 10am. They handed out tickets at 9 though. 42 systems, I got 29. Number 42 showed up around 8:15am.

No accessories though. Got to find a wiimote somewhere.

Should have complained to the manager. They would have pulled the peoples tickets.

Not sure how you guys are getting dozens of wii's at your stores today. My Pasadena BB only had 18. I arrived at 7:25a and I was approximately number 70 in line. They let the 18 people in at 8:40a and sent everyone away.

When I didn't get one at launch, I bought 3 games anyway since I figured i was going to get one eventually. Now I'm going back to the store to return those and picking up a 360 and gears of war.

No they wouldn't have. They did the smae thing at the BB I was at.

I GOT A Wii!!

Thanks for the Bestbuy heads up :)

So freakin lucky too. I was number 62 out of 63 units. I was about to turn away and skip the line all together because I figured I was too late. But then when I signed up I couldn't believe how close I was to it!!

Having a lot of fun so far. Played Sports, Trauma center and Excite truck :)

Fred Meyers got three each saturday night on the 25th, they did freight this morning and they all sold in 10 minutes upon opening, although there was only one person actually waiting, two others randomly walked in and bought the others.

Didnt want to read through it all but just thought i'd post.

My best buy opened at 10AM. I got there at 6 am, and was number 50 out of 50. I went down the line and asked everyone, and counted out the number of people waiting.

When they passed out vouchers some people decided to be capitolist. The friends waiting with friends got vouchers, who didn't want one when I walked up. All of a sudden I am number 60. WTF?!?! I watched someone sell his voucher for $25, another for $45 a few more I didn't catch the price on. I should have had a voucher. I am so pissed off right now. People cut in line, people sold vouchers. Someone held someones spot, grabbed a voucher, and waited until 11 for him to come back and buy it. Someone else forgot her money, but was aloowed to leave and come back. Despite being told that if you didn't walk in and pay for it, yours would go to the next person in line. The employees are complete assholes. I hate Best Buy. But they did tell me they WILL have some in on the 17th of this month so I should stop back by then.

17th or 27th? 27th is tomorrow if so thats a short time between shipments, if you mean 17, errr what?

My pre-order in the UK got cancelled and I had to order it from someone else. They're a pretty big chain and they say they're guaranteeing it for launch week... but I just don't know anymore. :(

I went to the bestbuy at 7:45 AM and was number 30 in line if you count all the people. The manager came out and said they had 30 systems but was only allowing 1 per household. So I was ticket number 20. It sounds like some of the other bestbuys were jerks about the ticket system.

I went to BB this morning here at 7:45am (opens at 10). Missed by about 10 people, there were about 100 people in line. They had 30 Wii's. I was cold and bitter so I bought someone's ticket for $80. I really didn't want to wait in a line next week because it will likely be much colder (42 is warm for a Pittsburgh morning in late Nov). I got one and it's pretty sweet. I combined it with my controller that I got last week, so I have Zelda, Madden, Monkeyball, Wii sports and 2 full controllers. Wii Sports is pretty damn fun. Zelda took a little while to get used to but it isn't bad. I didn't get my component cables yet so the graphics are teh suck. I also bought 2000 points online and got the original Zelda. Schweet.

Selection is pretty slim on the old games right now, but I'm sure more will come out.

Complete jerks. I seen three father daughter combos, each buying 2. Having your children buy a console aswell? Thats shitty. You know they just wanted to make a profit. I seen couples buying two aswell. If I worked at a Best Buy and seen 150 people lined up for 50 units. I wouldn't do that. One per HOUSEHOLD. Thats its.

And its 12/17/06 I was told they would be having another launch day like fiasco. Fuck them. I got a buddy at Wal-Mart to hook me up.

I agree with all of y'all who've said "fuck Best Buy." Got to mine in Rochester NY this AM, and there was the same deal of only 42 units and, according to an employee, no intent to put them on shelves anytime soon. They always do the ticket system he said. Well, if it weren't for their own employees leaking stock information on the web, no one would even know to go in to line up 'cuz they "Have no idea" when the next shipment will be in. Yet, a puny little gamestop a few miles away was more than happy to say they plan on getting them in in 2s or 3s over the next few weeks and to just call to find out stock.

I hope they realize by not being open about their shipments and being deceptive that they're just alienating me as a customer. They should post a goddamn paper on the door that says "Sorry, Wii out of stock. More in on xx/xx/xx." That would be customer service. At least Circuit Shitty has a paper on the door that says wii and ps3 out of stock.

Exactly. Wal-Mart, Game Stop. and EB Games even told me the times when trucks normally come in, and the best time to call to be first in line. EG/GS will recieve a few in each week, Walmart will get 7-14 once a week.

What the hell is going on this year? All we have is campout after campout after campout...

I'm amazed that all of these people have the time and money to buy these consoles like this.

All sold out here... :(

i coudln't lineup in the morning cause i had to drive back fom my parents place.. bleh..

not rubbing it in but I got one! Best buy at waterford lakes in orlando. People that showed up at 10.00 still tried to rush the doors though.

Small world :) I was in that line. number 62
And ya I was going to FLIP OUT if they weren't going to go by the list.

TTT

I called all the wal-marts within 30 miles and none have them in stock or know when they will.

Anyone have any ideas?

i talked to one of the eb games people and they said some should arrive this weak.he estimated either wed, thurs, fri, depending if it is in shipment.

I want to CRY (in fact I am... waaaah waaah wiiii). I called the local WM tonight at 5 when I got off work, apparently they got an unexpected shipment in this morning, and sold out almost immediately (WTF, who in a town of 17000 is looking for a Wii at that hour). I'm so sad, but now I have no shame and will continue to call twice a day from here til I get one.

I heard that Wally Marts were supposed to sit on their stock until Sunday (again)?

It seems to me that Target seems to be getting more shipments in my area.

PS.. I have a Wii + Zelda + Extra Remote + Nunchuck FS in the FS/FT forum right now...

You're amazed that someone can take a day or two off of work on vacation and then spend $600 on a gaming console?

Amazingly, some people can afford *cars* that cost ten to one hundred times this!

A lucky few can afford houses with mortgage payments many times the price of a gaming console.

Dammit! My local target says they don't have them. Are they lying? Should I take a drive there???

i dont know, i called and the guy took awhile to answer me (i guess he had to go check) but did say they had 3 and they were going fast. When i got there the last one was just sitting on a desk behind the check out counter and i was just praying that it wasn't being held for any reason. It also looked like they just unpacked them all not too long ago (i got there around 1pm EST) - they still had all the wii accessories in boxes next to the shelves, as well as boxes every where around the electronics dept. It's hard to believe that there would be one left if they unpacked them at 8am when the store opened.

I wouldn't have called there if i didn't read in a thread on another forum that someone got one target because I called the same target yesterday and they said they haven't had any in since launch day and had no idea when the next shipment was coming in.

Well I went to Wal-Mart, 2 Targets, EB Games, Toys R' Us, Circuit City, and Best Buy... none of them had any...

-Wal-Mart said they would be getting some this weekend (they said they ordered 9)
-1 Target said they would be getting some on Sunday
-1 Target said they don't think they've gotten any since launch
-EB said check back often but didn't know next shipment
-Toys R' Us said they got some Black Friday but didn't know next shipment
-CC didn't seem to know shit
-BB didn't know shit either

it should be illegal for stores to pull this situation ... if i didn't know any better i'd say they were purposely holding their inventories for weekends so that they can attract more customers to the stores on weekends with their pretty little sunday-sale advertisements that come in the sunday paper. how can a store manager have "no idea" what his store inventory shipments look like?

Stores should be able to sell what they want when they want. They have no obligation to tell you about their stock levels and incoming shipments. It's none of your business.

You talk about that as if the average Joe Sixpack employee who answers the phone at Walmart or Bestbuy gives a flying fuck about prudent store and business policy.

I bought a couple wii's and PS3's, sold them on eBay and gave a couple of my customers a couple nice "upgrades" (I splurged on some hardware for some customers and I didnt charge them x-tra b/c I am such a nice guy :D )

I just went to Circuit City after seeing that the store had nunchucks in stock on their site. I looked but didn't find any, talked to someone at customer service, and he said they just received some and would have someone bring them up. After a couple minutes of waiting he calls the "warehouse" in the back again and says he'll be right back. 5-10 minutes later he comes out with 3 cases of controllers fresh off the truck and asks again what I wanted. I told him 3 nunchucks, so he took them out and the next guy told him to go on break and he'll ring me up. After a few minutes of him trying to ring them up he tells the manager that the register wouldn't let him cash me out. The manager screwed around with it for a few minutes and then told him something and walked off. The clerk finally tells me "I'm sorry sir, we're not able to sell you these at this time, because the Wii relaunch is on Sunday"..

So they wasted 20 minutes of my time, plus the drive out there and back, but as far as I know they'll have some consoles come sunday.
